WinXP Manually Change the IDE Channel to DMA Mode

In WinXP systems, sometimes the system automatically uses the PIO parallel I/O transfer mode on the IDE channel instead of the DMA mode. This will increase the CPU cycle of the device. So how can we switch the DMA mode back?

The method is as follows:

1. Right click on “My Computer”, select “Properties", click “ Hardware tab, click on <;Device Manager"Open,

2. Click to expand <;IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller" branch, double-click "PRimary IDE Channel", click Advanced Settings .

3. Check the “Transfer Mode” drop-down menu and set them all to DMA If Available. Click OK. After

complete three steps away from the successful handover back DMA mode. If there are multiple IDE controllers, this method is also used for modification. If friends and friends have a more convenient way, welcome to interact with Xiaobian.
