How WinXP optimizes network connection speed and duplex mode

I don't know the careful users have found in WinXP system, its local connection configuration has "speed" & "quo" and "duplex" these two settings value. How to set it up?

Before setting up, let me explain what is duplex mode.

Duplex: The way in which information can be sent simultaneously in two directions between two points.

Duplex means that you can transfer in both directions at the same time, just like talking on the phone. Devices like walking dialogue machines are half-duplex or simple duplex.

Setting steps are as follows:

1, found on the desktop & ldquo; My Network Places & rdquo; the icon, right-click and select & ldquo; Properties & rdquo ;;

2, a new window will see the & ldquo; local Area connection & rdquo; the icon, the same right-click and select & ldquo; properties & rdquo ;;

3, in out of the & ldquo; local Area connection properties & rdquo; , click & ldquo; configuration & rdquo; button;

4, select & ldquo; Superior & rdquo; tab to see a list of properties there will be a number, select & ldquo; connection speed and duplex ( Speed & Duplex), the drop-down menu on the right can see the speed selection. The default is “Auto”, there will be different speed options. Once you've made your selection, you're OK (you need to restart your computer if necessary).

In general, you don't have to change these two settings. The default is automatic adaptation and the speed is optimized. If it is not properly modified, it will not be able to adapt to the device and cause network disconnection.
