Xp system download SCSI hard disk installation, startup, setup tutorial

Many people think that installing SCSI hard disk is a big project, unlike the IDE hard disk, as long as the setting is sequential (Master or Slave ) It can be used. In fact, he did not have the complexity of the xp system download. After all, the more rigorous installation and setup, the more stable the environment is.
Understanding SCSI Hard Drives: Whenever SCSI releases new specifications, SCSI hard drives will support new specifications at the same time, making SCSI hard drives a leader in SCSI peripherals. Because the technology of developing hard disks is quite mature, the cooperation of SCSI hard disks on the interface can always keep up with the times; in addition, the hard disk is a very important device of the computer, and it is not enough. In fact, all the hard disks are almost the same, but because of the different SCSI specifications, there are still some differences in the appearance.
SCSI hard drives have always been considered expensive and unattainable storage devices. Not only do they have a higher price than IDE hard drives, but they also have to choose a SCSI interface card. Therefore, under such conditions, general computer users tend to use the hard disk of the IDE interface. Although IDE hard disk has the advantage of low price, it always rivals the powerful speed of SCSI hard disk; coupled with the SCSI interface is the best tool for "multi-task", many players who are striving for stability and speed still love and SCSI hard disk.
Hard Disks with Different SCSI Sizes: With 68-Pins Wide SCSI pins, data can be transmitted using a 16-bit channel width. With 60-Pins Narrow SCSI pins, data can only be transferred with an 8-bit channel width. Jimper (jumper) settings, mainly used to adjust the hard disk ID, terminal resistance switch and so on. SCSI hard drives are quite expensive computer peripherals, so be careful when handling them. Since the current SCSI hard disk speed is quite high (about 7200RPM~10,000RPM), it is necessary to install a good heat dissipation environment whether it is external or built-in.
Installing the hard disk in built-in mode: Most of the hard disks bought from the market are built-in hard disks. Only some manufacturers return the higher-level SCSI hard disks with external boxes for sale, which makes them ready-made. Stand-alone hard drive. If you feel that your computer case has good heat dissipation and free space, you can leave the SCSI hard disk directly in the computer case with the money left in the external box.
The necessary tools for installation: To install the hard disk into the chassis, you need some tools to help you. At least you need to prepare the following two things: 1. Cross screwdriver: Hard disk and SCSI interface card need to be fixed on the chassis with screws. At this time, you must use the Phillips screwdriver to do the work. 2, needle-nosed pliers: You must use the needle-nosed pliers to remove, insert the Jumper on the hard disk to set the hard disk ID, terminal resistance switch and so on.
Prepare all the kits: When installing the SCSI hard disk in built-in mode, please prepare the following sets of accessories: 1. SCSI hard disk: This is of course an indispensable protagonist. 2, SCSI interface card: Unless your motherboard has built-in SCSI interface, you must definitely prepare a SCSI interface card; in addition, the SCSI interface card and hard disk is also very important, please use the SCSI specifications of the hard disk. If you use a Fast SCSI interface card with an Ultra-Wide SCSI hard drive, it's fine to use (the converter can be used), but the speed and channel width will reduce the long Fast SCSI standard. 3, SCSI cable: SCSI built-in cable is divided into 50-Pin Single-Ended, 68-Pin Single-Ended, 68-Pin LVD three, please know which SCSI hard drive must match which kind of cable. 4, screw: used to fix the hard disk and SCSI interface card, the specifications used by the two may not be the same!
Installation steps: Before installing SCSI hard disk, please understand the whole process: Hard disk Jumper setting → fixed interface card and hard disk → connect hard disk and interface card &rarr with cable; connect hard disk power and then we can start Install the SCSI hard disk on the chassis! 1. Adjust the SCSI hard disk jumper: The Jumper on the hard disk can be used to set the SCSI ID, terminating resistor, Parity Check, and so on. 2. Insert the SCSI interface card into the motherboard: Insert the SCSI interface card into the correct slot on the motherboard and confirm that it is properly inserted. Then use the Phillips screwdriver and screw to secure the interface card. 3. Fixed hard disk: Fix the hard disk to the chassis holder. 4. Connect the cable: Connect the SCSI interface card to the hard disk with the cable. 68-Pins Wide SCSI is a special trapezoidal connector, so there is no trouble in the connection. If you are installing a Narrow (50-Pin) hard disk, please note that the red line of the 50-Pin cable should be aligned with the Pin-1 of the hard disk or interface card. 5. Insert the mounting bracket into the chassis and connect it to the power supply: Make sure that the hard disk in the mounting bracket is installed, and then plug in the hard disk power cable. So far, the hardware installation is basically no problem, please check the SCSI interface card, cable, power cable is connected correctly; if everything is confirmed, you can turn on the host power, look at the SCSI BIOS on the screen Shows if the model number of this SCSI hard disk is already available. After booting, the SCSI BIOS screen appears, and the SCSI hard disk is found, indicating that the hardware is installed correctly!
