Modify the color of the Windows folder

The folders that are usually seen in the “Resource Manager” are all a color. If we display the currently accessed folders in a different color, not only the daily file management is more convenient, but also personalized “<quo ; Resource Manager & rdquo;.

Getting Ready

To open a folder that looks like an icon different from everyone else, you can use the captured icon builder to create a personalized icon yourself, of course. You can also download the icon that others have already done on the website.

Replace Folder Icon

The specific method of replacing the folder icon is:

1. Open the Registry Editor

Open the [Start] menu. [Run] command, then enter “Regedit”, open [Registry Editor]. Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorer-ShellIcons; suppose you want to set the icon of the current folder to the fourth icon. If the key value “4” does not exist, just right click on the right window and select [New] → [string value ], and name the string value "“4”, and then assign the string value "ld";4” to the location of your icon.

2, delete the Shelliconcache (shell icon cache) file

For the Windows NT/2000 system, it is generally in the WinnT folder;

For Windows9x/WindowsXP systems It is generally in the Windows folder.

The Shelliconcache file is a hidden file. You need to execute attrib-h%systemroot%Shelliconcache first to see it

3. Restart

For Windows NT/Windows 2000 operating systems In this case, just log out the user and log back in, but Windows9X/Me users need to restart the computer.
