Let Windows XP automatically start in safe mode

Safe mode is the diagnostic mode of Windows XP. It starts the computer in safe mode and only loads the specific components needed to run the operating system. In this mode, you can diagnose hardware errors, kill viruses, and so on. When starting a computer with Windows XP installed, press the F8 key on the keyboard, the advanced options menu will appear, and you can choose to boot to safe mode in the menu. However, in some cases, such as the user is using a USB keyboard, the USB driver does not work in DOS mode, that is, pressing the F8 button is useless. How can I get Windows XP to boot into safe mode at this time? The following describes a recommended method. There is a "System Configuration Utility" in Windows XP that allows Windows XP to automatically launch in Safe mode. The specific steps are described below. 1. Click the "Start" menu, click "Run", enter "msconfig" in the "Run" dialog box, click the "OK" button to run the system configuration utility. Figure 1 Run "msconfig" 2. Click "BOOT.INI" in the "System Configuration Utility" window, and then select the check box "/SAFEBOOT" in "Startup Options". Click the "OK" button. Click "Restart" and the computer will start in safe mode. Figure 3 Restart prompt 4. In the safe mode, after completing the necessary system diagnostics or anti-virus operation, repeat the above steps, but in the second step, deselect "/SAFEBOOT" to let the computer start in normal mode.
