Play the Windows xp fax receiving function

Once in a hurry, a foreign friend wants to send me a fax, but I don't have a fax machine, what should I do? Suddenly remembered that there is a fax function in Windows XP, but unfortunately I have never had a chance to use it, just use it to try it, so I quickly told my friend my phone number, and then studied Windows XP.

Kung Fu pays off, I finally found out the Windows XP fax function, the process is as follows: Open "Control Panel → Add or Remove Programs → Add /Remove Windows components (Figure 1). By default, Windows XP does not have a fax service installed. You can select Fax Service and click Next to install. After the installation is successful, a fax icon named FAX appears in Printers and Faxes in Control Panel. You can "Fax" the program group in "Start → Programs → Accessories → Communication". Now run the Fax Console and open the Tools menu. Select the "Configure Fax" command (Figure 2), and you can set up the fax one step further in the "Configure Fax Wizard" guide. One thing to note is that the default is only allowed to send. It is recommended to select "Allow Receive" and "Auto Answer" (Figure 3); select "Fax Printer Configuration" and a dialog box similar to the printer properties will appear; how can I know the fax? Has it been configured? Select “Fax Monitor” and a dialog box will appear (Figure 4). The above shows "Ready to send and receive faxes" and is finally ready.

Probably the relationship between time difference, at night, I slept, faintly heard two The phone rings (I am sorry, I have not been able to record this experience in detail). Look at the next morning, wow, success! I can't help but scream, the fax is lying in the "inbox" of the "fax console" (Figure 5)! This is the first time I have received a fax on my computer and I have finally experienced a real success! I am very excited, write this article and share it with everyone. As long as you have a computer, a telephone line, a "cat" (now the general "cat" supports the FAX function.), there is also a fax machine. Especially for those who do not use faxes and do not purchase fax machines, they can solve their urgent needs.
