Quick integration SP2 has tips

After Windows XP SP2 came out, many of my friends hope to integrate SP2 on the basis of the original VLK version to ensure a perfect integrated version. Seeing that everyone is looking for the original VLK installation disk, it is a good thing to find it. If you can't find it, you don't have to bother. What you have to do is delete the useless files left in the SP1 era.

Because the files that are replaced after the integration of SP2 are the same, that is to say, the installation files integrated on the basis of the original version and the installation files integrated on the basis of SP1 are the same in effect, the only difference It is only integrated on the basis of SP1 that there are many useless files left by the SP1 era. Friends who have a wealth of integrated SP experience will know. The SP2 installation disk that comes out of this is exactly the same as what you made on the original disk. Let's talk about how to make a perfect VLK SP2 integrated version based on the integrated VLK version of SP1.

★ Preparation

Windows XP installation disk for any version of SP1 is not integrated (in fact, as long as the i386 directory is available)

★ Integration

The first step is to copy all the files of the original Windows XP installation disk and the integrated VLK installation disk of SP1 to the hard disk directory.

The second step is to extract the SP2 package.

The third step is to integrate SP2 into two installation disks.

The specific operation is:

Figure 1 Comparison folder

First use UltraISO7 An image file, for example named winxp.iso; then release all the files in winxp.iso to a directory, such as d:\\winxp. Then, use the WinRAR right button to download the downloaded SP2 file, and extract it to a directory, for example, d:\\SP2\\i386

Now, enter this directory and run the following command in the command line state:

d:\\SP2\\i386\\update\\update /intergrate D:\\winxp

Open winxp.iso in UltraISO, delete all files and folders inside, and keep only the startup files. Then drag and drop all the files and folders in d:\\winxp into UltraISO. Finally save, engrave. If you test your ISO image with a virtual operating system (such as virtualPC or VMware), that's best.

★ Compare

Open BEYONDCOMPARE2 (Figure 1). Select the comparison directory, specify the i386 directory of the two versions of the installation disk, open it after confirmation, then you will see the files on both sides of the software are displayed in the two directories.

Select the menu "View - Display Filter - only does not match (some Chinese translations only show differences)" (Figure 2) At this time, you will see that only a part of the file is kept on the SP1 version of vlk. These files are files left by the SP1 era. They are redundant files and can be deleted directly. If you don't worry, you can move them to a folder for recovery.

Figure 2 Select menu

Then you look at the i386 directory, it should be 2766 or 2767 files (a difference in winnt.sif), and the volume is smaller than the deleted file. It was twenty meters before it was small. Delete the win51ip.SP1 and SPNOTES.HTM files in the root directory.

Now this disk is basically the same as the CD you integrated SP on the original version. You can install the test and see if the setuperr.log file in your system disk Windows directory has an error message. If not, congratulations, you already have a perfect integrated SP2 VLK version of the XP installation CD.
