Using SecureRDP to Enhance Server Security

Server security has always been a big problem. Remote desktop is one of the channels that are often used in the Windows 2003 operating system. Hackers use the right to upgrade ordinary users to super users. Remote Desktop Control Server, then such a Windows 2003 server is completely controlled by hackers. So is there a way to make a hacker unable to use Remote Desktop even if he has administrator privileges? The answer is yes, that is, using SecureRDP to limit the remote desktop login client.

SecureRDP is a foreign software that can be used to limit the computer name, MAC, and IP of the remote desktop login, and can be used to log in to the remote desktop of the server. Otherwise, it will refuse to support the Windows 2003 server operating system. Windows 2008 is not supported, so the security of the server is greatly improved, and it is rare that SecureRDP is a free software.

The latest version of SecureRDP download address: http://www.2x.com/securerdp/, download and install, directly follow the default installation on the line. Ps: The server will be restarted automatically after the last step of installation. Please save the content you want to save first. Setting instructions:

Restrict only your computer name can be remote: "Start”——“2x--SecureRDP”, launch SecureRDP software, click on the left side: Coumpter Name, then click Enable computer nameFilter, then click Add: Mode default is Logon enabled, do not change it, then enter your computer name (your local computer name) below, then click OK, then, point to File in the software interface, click Apply Configuration . This setting will take effect, be careful not to set the wrong, or you will find that you can't even connect yourself after disconnecting. If your computer name is not allowed, you will find the SecureRDP security prompt when you connect to 3389. You can't connect to any remote computer if you change the computer to the correct computer name (of course, knowing the password).

Restricting the computer name, MAC, IP, etc. of remote desktop login with SecureRDP will greatly improve the security performance of Windows 2003 server.
