Be wary of your UPS power supply strikes midway

The UPS AC power supply system is different from the conventional -48V DC power supply system. Its characteristic is that the UPS power supply equipment has the requirements of the initial phase angle and frequency synchronization, and the output voltage is high, which is the AC 380V supply voltage, which is more than the DC power supply system. The machine requirements are much stricter and more complicated to implement. Multiple UPS devices work in parallel, and once the system fails, it will cause a chain reaction, which will cause a large-area power supply to be interrupted. In addition, once the UPS power supply system is put into operation, it cannot be stopped. Downtime means failure. How to ensure the safe power supply of the UPS power supply system becomes the most important problem in the professional management of power supply.

Selecting good equipment

After the construction project is determined, selecting the best equipment is the prerequisite for safe operation of the system in the future. On the basis of the Group's collection, the technical indicators and user usage of various types of UPS equipment are investigated. The quality of the technical indicators is used as the main selection standard. On the basis of moderate price, the brand products using UPS equipment are determined. The system lays the foundation for stable operation.

Developing a reasonable system equipment configuration and power supply scheme

A reasonable system configuration scheme is the basis for ensuring safe power supply. In the process of formulating the scheme, it is impossible to fully listen to the ideal propaganda of multiple parallel manufacturers. When the normal system is running, each UPS device only bears 40% to 50% of the load, ensuring a certain redundancy. Once one UPS in the system fails, the other or both can bear the normal power supply of the system. Select a server with dual power ports on the power supply scheme, or use a dual bus output power supply mode to eliminate power supply bottlenecks and ensure power supply security. In addition, special requirements are placed on the output power distribution cabinet. In order to avoid the output open fault, the output power distribution cabinet is required to be configured with an empty air to prevent power interruption caused by the open fault.

Avoid overload use UPS

When using UPS, calculate the load size, avoid overload or too small load, too large load will make UPS work overtime for a long time. The state thus shortens the service life of the UPS; if the load is too small, the working circuit of the UPS works in an abnormal state for a long time, which is also harmful to the UPS.

A reasonable load should be controlled between 50% and 80%. Practice has proved that the UPS output load control is about 60% is the best and the reliability is the best. When the UPS is overloaded or the inverter fails, it will go to bypass mode operation. At this time, the UPS does not have the backup function, and the power used by the load is directly supplied through the power system.

Strict Acceptance

A comprehensive test of each UPS power supply equipment is carried out before each new UPS power supply system is put into use, including: single-machine half-load test, Single machine full load test, single machine overload test, multiple UPS equipment parallel full load test, system bypass operation test, UPS running test under battery power supply state. In particular, if the simulation assumes that any UPS in the system exits due to a fault, the remaining UPS devices are fully loaded. At the same time, the battery pack's own discharge quality and the temperature rise of each component during the operation of the UPS equipment under various conditions are detected.

Enhanced battery management

To understand and master the quality of the battery pack of the UPS power supply system at any time, to ensure that the system power supply is safe and reliable when the mains power fails, there is no good battery pack for standby or There are countless problems in the quality of the battery pack itself, then the battery pack configured in the system will become the "display" of the ear of the rafter. Therefore, attaching importance to the management of the UPS system battery is an important measure to ensure the safe power supply of the system.

Use of AC Regulator

After using UPS, it is no longer necessary to add AC regulator. If it must be added, it should be added to the front stage of the UPS, that is, the mains supply first through the AC voltage regulator, then through the UPS, and then to the load.
