Server blade installation OpenServe5.0.7 method

The following are frequently asked questions about the PRC CTO. F.Y.I.
X346 Frequently Asked Questions:
1. It is required to install two different CPUs (1M and 2M) at the same time.
Recommendation: The X226/X236/X336 has the same two cached CPUs (1MB or 2MB) as the X346. Different cache CPUs cannot be installed together. When the above product mentions CTO, it is necessary to confirm whether the CPU of the standard
model matches the added CPU.
Listing: 8840x1C/8841x1C is a 1M cache model; 8840x5C/8841x5C is a 2M cache model.
2. Requires an internal array on the 6M Raid card.
Recommendation: The 6M Raid card cannot be used as an internal array on the X346. (No additional SCSI cabel is required) It is recommended to note whether the CTO is internal or external.
3. When installing a dual fiber interface card/dual 6M Raid card/dual SCSI card, no 7K Raid card is added.
Recommendation: When installing the above device, if the 7K Raid card is not added. A blue screen will appear. This information has been published on the official IBM website. (X236 also has this problem)
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss...&tempselected=5
4. When adding a tape drive, there is no requirement to install it. SCSI card.
Recommendation: When adding a tape drive, you need to add SCSI to provide additional SCSI channels to the tape drive.
X366 Frequently Asked Questions:
1. Requires 512MB memory stick:
Recommendation: X manual and Paper config although notes can be used. However, the WW and IBM officials did not publish this information. Therefore, it is still not available at present. It is recommended to update the X manual with the Paper config.
2. Require SCSI hard disk
Recommended; only the SAS hard disk can be used on the X366, and the SCSI hard disk cannot be used.
3. When adding 2 or 2 SAS hard disks, there is no requirement to add 8i Raid cards.
Recommendation: When the official website of IBM has announced that two or more SAS hard disks are installed, if there is no 8i Raid card, there will be a blue screen when installing Win2000
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support /site.wss...&tempselected=5
4. When installing 4 memory modules, there is no requirement to add a memory module expansion card.
Recommendation: There is only one memory card expansion card in the standard model, and only two 1GB memory modules are installed. Each expansion card can hold 4pcs of memory, up to 16. //This article comes from the computer software and hardware application network www.45it.com
X445 Frequently Asked Questions:
1. Requirements to install more than 2 hard drives
Recommended: Only two hard drives can be installed on the X445. Be sure to read the X manual and Paper config carefully.
2. The CTO is configured as a power supply.
Recommendation: The power supply on the standard model is 2 1200W. Note Configuration Be sure to read the X manual and Paper config carefully.
X255 Frequently Asked Questions:
1. It is required to install more than 6 hard disks without adding hard disk expansion card options.
Recommendation: Up to 6 SCSI hard disks can be installed in standard models. Be sure to read the X manual and Paper config carefully.
2. The CTO is configured as a power supply.
Recommendation: The power supply on the standard model is 2 370W. Can be extended to 2 power supplies. Note Please read the X manual and Paper config carefully when configuring.
3. When adding a tape drive, or adding a hard disk expansion card, there is no requirement to add a Raid card.
Recommendation: The X255 motherboard has only one internal SCSI channel and one external SCSI channel. Therefore, when adding a tape drive or hard disk expansion card, you need to add a Raid card to provide additional SCSI channels.
4. Using the Tower's standard model, the Tower-to-Rack conversion kit is required to produce the Rack model.
Recommendation: X255 has the standard models of Tower and Rack. So you can use the Rack standard model directly.
X236 Frequently Asked Questions: //This article comes from the computer software and hardware application network www.45it.com
1.6M Raid card does not add extra SCSI cable when doing internal array.
Recommendation: When doing internal array, Because the SCSI cable on the machine itself is too short, you need an additional SCSI Cable 02R2068. (Currently you must add a line of servers, only X236, X235, X345)
Other servers do not need to add SCSI Cable.
Do SCSI cable is not required for external arrays. But the pattern of the array must be noted in the requirements: internal or external!
Blade&Blade center Frequently Asked Questions:
1. It is required to install silencer block/display/EXP400 on 8677.
Recommendation: The packaging materials on the Blade center cannot be packaged. It is recommended to purchase separately. >2. It is required to install two SFF hard disks on the HS20 8843 and also to install Stff.
Recommendation: When installing a Stff expansion card, only one SFF hard disk can be installed. Pay attention to the number of hard disks when adding the following Stff options.
X460 Frequently Asked Questions:
1. Requires 8 memory modules and 3pcs memory card expansion card.
Recommendation: Two standard memory card expansion cards are available under standard models (each can be installed) 4PCS) So 8Pcs memory modules can be installed on standard models. There is only one piece on the X366, and the standard X366 can only hold 4Pcs memory sticks.
This model can be loaded with up to 16pcs of memory as the X366.
2. It is required to add a remote control card.
Recommendation: A standard remote control card is already available on the standard model and can only be installed. Therefore, you cannot install an extra RSA card.
3. 8870 and 8863 use the same chassis and power supply (1300W). The 8863 standard model is a 1300W power supply that can add a redundant power supply. The 8872 standard model is two power supplies. So can't add
redundant power.
X336 Frequently Asked Questions:
1. It is required to install SCSI hard disk on SATA standard model, or install 2.5 in hard disk on 3.5 in standard model.
Recommendation: SATA model and SCSI model on X366. Standard models of 3.5 in and 2.5 in. Therefore, when mentioning CTO, it is necessary to confirm that the selected standard model matches the type of hard disk added.
The types of other models are as follows:
X226 Frequently Asked Questions:
1. Do you need a SCSI card when adding a tape drive.
Recommendation: SCSI cable is not required, connect SCSI cable to tape drive and On Channel 1 on the motherboard.
2. It is required to install SCSI hard disk on SATA standard model, or install 2.5 in hard disk on 3.5 in standard model.
Recommendation: Matching standard model and hard disk. The 3.5 in standard model uses a 3.5 In hard drive.
Software Part:
The P/N of the NPI option on the current PRC Server CTO is as follows:
1.W2003 Server Standard Edition: 90P0494 & COA: 90P2757
2.W2003 Server Enterprise: 90P0498 & COA: 90P2758
For PWS, since the standard model is already soft and contains COA. Therefore, you do not need to add NPI attachments and COA Label. However, you need to note the language of the operating system. Chinese or English.
