                  PowerDVD is a powerful and widely used DVD player software. The following 16 classic tricks will help you make better use of it and enjoy DVDs.
First, the quick return to the menu menu
Generally, when playing a DVD, there will be a DVD menu screen, where you can set the audio language, subtitles, select the paragraph to play or quickly enter the trailer. After the DVD starts normal playback, if you want to switch to this menu, you don't have to stop playing and restart. Just right click on the screen, click on the "DVD Menu" command, then select "Movie Menu" or "Directory Menu", or you can directly click on the "Menu" button on the main interface and then select (Figure 1 ).





All the above settings (such as language, subtitles, paragraph selection), you can also right click on the DVD playback screen and select "Subtitles" during playback. Options such as "Settings", "Language Settings" or "Skip to..." are executed.
2. Shuttle Shuttle Fast
Using the shuttle to quickly advance and reverse the video being played at a custom speed, click on the circle where the green shuttle is located, and the specified points on the left are reverse speed. , including: 0.5X, 0.75X, 1X, 1.5X, 2X, 3X, 4X, 8X, 16X, and 32X; the center point represents the pause; and the right point is the forward speed.
Small Tips
★ Right click on the shuttle and the shortcut menu shown in Figure 2 appears. You can directly select the corresponding multiple. Right-click in the playback screen and select “Forward/Reverse→...”, there will be more detailed multiples to choose from.


★The shuttle supports mouse wheel operation.
Three, one frame and one frame look carefully
PowerDVD has a stepping function that allows us to advance and reverse the movie frame by frame (Figure 2), thus controlling the playback more finely. Click “Single Forward” to advance to the next screen; click “Single Back” to the previous screen.


Fourth, the film paragraph is carefully selected
Generally speaking, the DVD disc is composed of multiple movies, each film includes many paragraphs, we can quickly navigate by switching paragraphs . As mentioned earlier, we can choose from the directory menu or right-click menu after the title animation. In addition, there are other methods.
1. Click the control button
Click the "Next" button on the PowerDVD panel or press the N button on the keyboard, we can immediately jump to the next movie; if you click the "Previous" button Or press the P key on your keyboard to go back to the previous movie clip.
2. Right click on the control button
Right click on the "Next" or "Previous" button and directly select the corresponding paragraph in the movie in the pop-up menu (Figure 3).

4. Viewing method
Viewing mode allows us to directly see the video content of the paragraph, click the "View" button in Figure 3.































The word “Start Point Setting” appears in the upper right corner of the screen, indicating that we have set the starting point for the repeating clip. After setting the starting point, let the DVD movie continue to play until you reach the end point of the clip to be repeated and then press the “loop play” button. At this time, the text message “End Point Setting” will appear at the top right of the screen.


After setting the start and end points, the movie will continue to play between two points. To cancel loop playback, just click the "loop play" button again.
6. OSD shows me as the master
Displaying the prompt text (OSD) on the screen is a feature of PowerDVD. Select the “Playback Settings” tab in the “Configuration” window, then click the “Advanced” button. In the "Advanced Options" window, select the "OSD Settings" tab to freely set the display time, position, font, color, etc. of the OSD (Figure 5).

During PowerDVD playback, you can save the current screen by directly clicking the “Capture Picture” button on the panel or pressing the C key. The default setting for PowerDVD is to save images to the clipboard. However, we right click on the "Capture Screen" button and you will see several options in the pop-up menu (Figure 6).


Selecting "Save Picture to Clipboard" will store the captured picture to the clipboard; "Save Picture to File" is to save the image to the hard disk as a file. The default save path is My Documents\\Cyberlink\\PowerDVD\\Snapshot; "Save as wallpaper (center/tiling)" is when you click "Capture Screen" to set the screen as desktop without performing other operations; Three options allow you to set the size of the captured picture.
8. Chinese and English subtitles at the same time show

★In the menu of Figure 8, select “Browse” or “View” to browse the detailed time information and preview image of the bookmark.
★ Bookmarks are saved in the My Documents\\Cyberlink\\PowerDVD\\Bookmarks directory. Copy and paste can be used to backup and restore bookmarks. Or go to PowerDVD's "Advanced Options" window, you can import and export bookmarks in the "Bookmarks" tab.
