How does Win10 upgrade installation break through system language restrictions?

By default, Microsoft does not allow upgrade installations between systems of different language versions. For example, when you run the Chinese version of Windows 10 installer directly in the English version of Win10 system, you cannot complete the upgrade installation. However, we can force the system to complete the upgrade by modifying the registry, and retain the software and applications in the original system. The detailed method is as follows:

It should be noted that this method is not a method recommended by Microsoft, and may cause an abnormality in the system. In a production environment, it is recommended to install a language pack to implement language switching.

Note: Due to the need to modify the registry, it is recommended to create a restore point for your system according to "Win10 How to Create Restore Points and System Restore Complete Raiders" before operation, so as to restore in case of error.

1, press Win+R to open the run, enter regedit and press Enter to open the registry editor;

2, expand the following location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SYSTEM \\CurrentControlSet\\Control\\Nls\\Language

3. Find the registry key named InstallLanguage at the bottom of the right side. This key value represents the display language of the system. All we have to do is modify it to the system language code we want to upgrade to, as shown below:

For example, the existing system has English, and the system you want to upgrade to is Simplified. For the Chinese version, change it to 0804. Conversely, if the existing system is Chinese and you want to upgrade to the English version, change it to 0409. Language codes for different countries or regions can be clicked to view.

4, restart the system, and then try to upgrade will not fail.
