How to maximize Windows 7 backup disk space

Windows 7 backup disk space management consists of three parts: system protection, automatic backup and image. In order to save backup or protect space, put them in an article summary, introduce the deletion or adjustment method of backup space, how to better Maximize disk space savings. For the backup or setup methods mentioned in this article, please refer to the previous article link.
First, adjust the Windows 7 system protection space
How to enter the system protection settings, please refer to: Windows 7 system protection settings and usage points
1, turn off unnecessary protection drive
Click “ Control panel & rdquo; - " system, and then select "system protection", the default is to open the system protection for all drives, according to their needs to turn off some unnecessary drive protection, can reduce the backup space. However, Windows 7 does not allow protection of non-system drives only, but does not protect the system drive, so as long as system protection is turned on, you must first turn on the protection system disk.
2, adjust the disk space usage

The system disk defaults to 3% of the maximum space, the general default can be, no matter how much, the system disk must reserve at least 1G of disk space, otherwise the restore operation will not be able to get on.
The system disk does not take up to 30% of the maximum space by default. It can be adjusted according to the actual partition size. If the drive contains important files, or if it is left for Windows 7, it may be used at a critical time.
2, delete the early restore point release space
Please note: you can not delete the individual restore points, either delete all restore points (can be deleted in the system protection window), or delete the most recent restore points All restore points (only in Disk Cleanup - "More Options -> System Restore and Shadow Copy in the click clean). The effect of deleting a restore point is only to temporarily release the disk space, which will occupy this part of the disk space. So ultimately it depends on the system to protect disk space settings.
Please note: When deleting a restore point, the previous version of the file will be deleted at the same time. If you back up some important files at the same time, you may not be able to restore the version again, so the <quo;delete”all restore point button in the above figure Be careful. The disk cleanup screenshot shown below is based on the Windows 7 English version installed Chinese language package display results, the actual Chinese version may be different.

2, by deleting the backup point during the backup period
delete the backup point during the backup period, at least should keep the most recent file backup. By default, Windows automatically saves as many system images as possible within the space allowed, but does not take up more than 30% of the backup disk space. Windows will delete the older system image before the disk space begins to run out. You can set up Windows to keep as many system images as possible within the range allowed by the backup disk space, or just keep the most recent system image. The most recent system image should always be retained. If you save a system image to a network location, you can only keep the most recent system image.

In addition, you can also uninstall programs that are not commonly used, and you can free up disk space, which of course is not part of the backup.
