Win7 dual hard disk frequently makes sounds

If you do not read or write to the slave disk for a period of time, Windows 7 will automatically shut down the hard disk by default, and then restart it the next time you need to read and write. Therefore, it is not surprising to hear the sound of the hard disk turning.
Although frequent shutdowns do not cause much damage to the life of your hard drive. If you need a quiet working environment, you can choose to turn it off. The specific operation is as follows:
In the start menu, open the control panel. Go to the "Hardware and Sounds -> Power Options" window.

Select the currently used power plan and click on the "Change Plan Settings" link on the right side.

After entering the Edit Plan Settings window, select “Change Advanced Power Settings”.

Expand “Hard Disk -> Turn off the hard drive after this time”. We can see that the default setting is to turn off the hard drive after 20 minutes. You can reset it as needed, or simply set it to “never", click the “OK” button to save it.
