Many users who installed dual system will directly format the system partition where Win7 is located when uninstalling Windows 7, but in this way, it will be found that the boot menu remains after the system starts. Win7 startup item, the startup item is invalid. By default, when the system starts, it will automatically enter the invalid Win7 startup item, resulting in <;black screen", having to restart again to manually select the previous system startup menu. This article describes several ways to clear Win7 startup items.
Method 1:
After uninstalling the Windows 7 system and logging in to the previous system, put the Win7 installation CD in the CD-ROM drive, or load the Win7 installation image ISO file with a virtual CD-ROM drive, assuming the drive letter is X.
Click “Start”——“Run”, type cmd and press Enter to open a command prompt window.
Enter X:bootbootsect.exe /nt52 all /force in the command prompt window (note that there is a space after bootsect.exe, there is also a space in front of all; X refers to the drive letter of the Win7 installation CD), back Wait a few seconds after the car, the system will perform the operation of deleting the Win7 startup item, and finally the character such as success will be displayed in the command prompt window, indicating that the operation is successful.
Then exit the command prompt window, eject the CD-ROM drive or uninstall the virtual CD-ROM drive, restart the system, you will find that the Win7 startup item has disappeared.
Note:
1, according to the above principle, we can get a way to repair Win7 startup items, just change the command to X:bootbootsect.exe /nt60 all.
2, the above command prompt method, is to extract the bootsect.exe file from the boot folder in the Win7 installation disk, we can extract the bootsect.exe file to the local hard disk, put In other partition folders outside the system partition, for example, in the 123 folder of the D partition, so that we can delete the Win7 startup item by executing the following command in the command prompt window:
D: 123bootsect.exe /nt52 all /force
Method 2:
If you have previously installed xp and Win7 dual systems, you need to use XP's system installation disk to clear the win7 startup items. In the XP system, put the XP installation disk into the CD-ROM drive, restart the system to load the XP installation program from the CD-ROM drive, and then press the R key to enter the system repair, enter the administrator password (you can enter the password without setting the password), after the carriage return, Then enter fixboot and press Enter. After you finish, type exit to exit.
If the previous installation is Vista and Win7 dual system, then clear the Win7 startup item as follows: In the Vista system, press Win+R to open the "Run" window, enter msconfig and press Enter to open the system configuration program. , you will find that there are two "start" options, one of which is familiar with the application window similar to the XP system is started with the system startup, the other is the management window of the dual system boot menu, Windows 7 in the drop-down menu is deleted.
