Manually modify the registry - Fill in ActiveX security vulnerabilities

Yesterday confirmed a serious vulnerability related to ActiveX in IE6 and IE 7. Although there is no case of infection between Vista and Windows 7, it does not mean that Vista and WIndows 7 are 100% secure. It is. Microsoft also provided a temporary solution yesterday, disabling ActiveX, which is the safest method, but it will affect the use of some plug-ins, and it will take some time for Microsoft to develop patches. So, do it yourself, and get enough food. It’s good to be yourself.

1. Open Security Advisory 972890, scroll to the General Information at the bottom, click on Suggested Actions, expand Workarounds, and you should now see the Class Identifier.

2. WIN+R runs regedit to open the registry editor

3. Find
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Internet Explorer\\ActiveX Compatibility
< in the left panel P>4. Right-click this branch - Find, find what, find the content provided in the Class Identifier

5. If you find the same key value as in the Class Identifier, don't delete it because It is also useless to delete

6. The Compatibility Flags key should be found in the right panel corresponding to the found branch. If there is no such key, right click in the blank area - New - Binary Value (binary value) - Rename to Compatibility Flags.

7. Right-click on the Compatibility Flags key - Modify - In the Edit DWORD Value window, under Value data, type 400, select Base as Hexadecimal, and click OK.

8. If more than one branch is found in the "5" step operation, repeat the above operation.
