Partitions under Windows 7 should pay attention to logical partitions and extended partitions

When installing Windows 7 on a brand new computer, we usually first divide a partition to store the installation of Windows 7. In this case, we may add 3~4 partitions according to our own needs, or install it. Partition through Disk Manager after Windows 7. However, we will find that the partitions created by Windwos 7 by default are primary partition types, such as gOxiA's 320G hard disk, partition is such a 100M Boot primary partition; 40G System primary partition; 40G NativeVHD primary partition and 220G Sources primary partition. When gOxiA wants to perform BitLocker test, it intends to compress 60G from the Sources partition to test BitLocker, but after actual operation, it is found that this 60G free space cannot create partitions on the basic disk, which means that the entire disk must be Convert to a dynamic disk!

Creating a command from the Diskpart command prompts an important message, allowing up to 4 primary partitions or 3 primary points + 1 extended partition on a single disk. Before the analysis of the situation, there are already 4 primary partitions on the current disk, which eventually prevented me from creating a partitioned volume on the basic disk.

So when we are going to create more than 4 partitions on a single disk, be aware that these four partitions already contain the 100M Boot primary partition, or we understand that we are going to create more than 3 partitions, then It is important to create a partition as an extended partition type and then create a logical partition on this extended partition. Otherwise, gOxiA will encounter the embarrassment that is currently encountered, and it is a dilemma! (PS: Off-topic, in fact, this result, I think Microsoft is considering the lack of design, because from the Windows Vista, the concept of partitioning has been very mode, we are named after the volume is created, and the default All the volumes created under the primary partition type are not explicitly expressed in the concept of extended partitions!)

In terms of new features and functions of the disk, it is really difficult! I hope everyone should pay special attention when partitioning the disk.
