Windows7 OEM activation will be considered for blacklisting

As early as Windows7 officially listed, there have been reports from foreign media that "Windows 7 can be cracked and activated", but Microsoft has vaguely stated that it will strictly review the OEM version. There are no other responses.

After the official launch of Windows 7, Microsoft gave absolute attention to the anti-piracy version of Windows 7, and said that for genuine OEM activation methods, "If genuine users leak their OEM certificates to help activate For piracy, we will investigate the compromised copy and punish it."

The most widely distributed Windows 7 OEM certificates are mainly from international brands such as Lenovo, Dell and Hewlett-Packard. For these leaked OEM information, Microsoft said that these same digital signature certificates "only one is true and correct", users use the genuine software they purchased for piracy, this behavior is "worrying" and also "unacceptable.

A Microsoft spokesperson has made it clear that users are strongly advised not to download Windows 7 or its modified version on unauthorized sites because Windows 7 security cannot be guaranteed on these sites. Because, as can be seen from some feedback, those versions that bypass Windows 7 activation and verification or directly crack Windows 7 versions usually have Trojan viruses or other backdoor programs.

According to Alex Kochis, Director of Microsoft Windows Genuine Business Unit, Microsoft is ready to take steps to rectify OEM SLP and OEM activation certificates and consider blacklisting them. ". Kochis said that Microsoft has cooperated with OEMs on anti-piracy measures and is working together to find "any problematic copy of Windows7."
