Q: My computer has been upgraded to Windows 7 system. Now I want to remove the small arrows in the lower left corner of the icons on the desktop. The system is messing up, I just want to get rid of the small arrows of those icons, do not need to do anything else, please tell the method, thank you!

There are small arrows in the lower left corner of the icon

A: Actually, there is nothing wrong with a small arrow. Let us immediately distinguish whether it is a shortcut or a file. Of course, it is feasible if it is to be removed. The current perfect solution: replace the small arrow with a transparent icon file, so as to remove the small arrow on the icon, the specific operation is as follows.

first find a fully transparent ico icon, save to C: \\ Windows folder, a file named Empty.ico (name and path can be self Define), then import the following registry information (save the content as a reg file and double-click to run),

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion \\Explorer\\Shell Icons] “29”=“C:\\\\Windows\\\\Empty.ico,0”

Finally log out and log back in, the small arrow disappears. Click to download the transparent icon and the created registry information.

Note: There are two widely modified methods that are not recommended. One is to delete the "IsShortcut" in the registry, and the second is to use the transparent icon in the system icon library shell32.dll, both of which have defects, we must not use.
