Tips for effectively improving Vista search speed

How can the searcher be better under Vista? Can you guarantee the same high speed and security under Windows 7? What are the skills in Vista? I want to master these skills for Vista users. Well, it's a great help!

As we all know, Windows Vista's search function is extremely powerful, except that you can search directly in the search box of the start menu, if you press “win+F” Open the search browser and switch to the advanced search mode, you can manually specify the search location, date, size, name, tag, author, etc., so that you can locate the search target in a shorter time.

In fact, you can further improve the search efficiency of Windows Vista. This course mainly explains this content. Here is an example of Vista SP2:

Tip 1: Quickly update search results < Br>

In practice, we may often need to search for files of different formats under a fixed path, but if you re-set the search conditions every time, it is quite troublesome. In fact, we can create multiple different search result files, and then directly double-click to update the search results:

For example, after completing the search for the ".zip" format, click on &ldquo on the toolbar. ; Save search & rdquo; button, the "Save As" dialog box will pop up, the file name and save path can be specified by themselves. As for the save type, you don't need to change it. After saving, we can get an extension called "search-ms". The file, you can directly double-click the file in the future, you can get the latest search results, compared to the re-search, the efficiency is naturally much higher.

If you want to change the search format, you can open the search results file with Notepad and find “operator="contains" value=".zip"”, change the “.zip” “.rar”, save after exiting. In the future, you only need to double-click the name.zip.search-ms” this search result file to find out that the search result content has changed.

Tip 2: Search for files in both formats at the same time

As long as you modify the search results file, you can search for files in both formats:

Search for .pdf or .jpg files in two different formats. First enter the "Name” box and enter “.pdf .jpg”, please note that the space is separated by a space in English, click on the toolbar. Save the search & rdquo; button, after confirmation, you will get the corresponding XML file. Open the search result file with Notepad, press “Ctrl+H” to open the replacement dialog box, replace “&Conquoition” with “OrCondition”, and save the changes and exit. Double-click this modified search result file to see that the search results already contain two files in different formats. If you need to search for other formats, you can change them in the same way.

Tip 3: Enable natural language

We know that both Google and Baidu provide the search function of ““ or”, which can be searched using more than two keywords at the same time. Vista also has this feature, but it is disabled by default.

Open the "Folder Options" dialog box, switch to the "Search" tab, find the "Search Method" section, check the "Use Natural Language Selection" check here. Box, other options can be set according to the actual situation. When you need to search for files in multiple formats in the future, you can directly enter “.pdf or .jpg”, where “or” indicates the connector " or”. It should be emphasized that we can use such natural language search in the search box in the upper right corner of the window, search browser, "start search” box in the start menu.

Three tips, the use of the searcher, is not like a wing, run more quickly.
