WIN7 hard disk installation Fedora 18 dual system detailed process

Software used: ext2fsd (read and write EXT3 partition), easybcd (dual system boot), Acronis Disk Director (partition software) Old birds please see: 1. Create 5G EXT3 partition, load EXT3 partition with EXT2FSD, copy into Fedora 18 DVD Iso file. 2. Install easybcd, choose to add new entries, select NeoGrub, select install, select configuration, edit menu.lst, and add: title Install Fedora Linux 18 root (hd0,0) kernel /nst/vmlinuz repo=hd:/dev /sda10:/initrd /nst/initrd.img Extract vmlinuz from the isolinux directory of the Fedora 18 DVD ISO file. The two files initrd.img are placed in the WIN7 system partition/NST/. (sda10 is modified to your own 5Gext3 partition) 3. Create a 20G partition for installing Fedora system files and create a swap partition swap. 4. Restart Fedora and choose not to install the bootloader. 5. Modify menu.lst to: title Fedora Linux 18 root (hd0,0) kernel /nst/vmlinuz root=/dev/sda8 ro initrd /nst/initrd.img (sda8 modified to your own Fedora system partition) 6 .Reboot, WIN7, Fedora, dual system. The rookie please see: 1. Download Fedora 18 DVD, because the DVD is larger than 4G, so it can only be placed in the NTFS partition. 2. Use the partitioning software (I am using Acronis Disk Director) to adjust a new 5G EXT3 partition from the free partition for the Fedora 18 DVD, because the Fedora bootloader cannot recognize NTFS. 3. Download ext2fsd (this software can read and write ext3 partitions under windows), install. Run Ext2 Volume Manager, because it is the first time running, so to enable the driver, select tools and settings, select the configuration file system driver, click Enable. Select the 5G EXT3 partition, right click, select to change the assembly point, select load and exit. Then a new drive letter appears on the computer, and then copy the fedora 18 dvd to the root directory of the new load partition. Ext2fsd can be uninstalled after copying the ISO file. 4. Create a 20G partition for installing Fedora system files and create a swap partition swap, which is required for Linux systems. 5. Install easybcd, choose to add a new entry, select NeoGrub, select install, select configuration, edit menu.lst, add: title Install Fedora Linux 18 root (hd0,0) kernel /nst/vmlinuz repo=hd:/dev /sda10:/initrd /nst/initrd.img (sda10, is my hard drive, can be viewed with Acronis Disk Director, C drive sda1, D drive is sda5 (not sda2), E drive is sda6, and then count Change sda10 to 5G partition with ISO file.) 6. Extract vmlinuz from the directory isolinux of Fedora 18 DVD ISO file, initrd.img two files in WIN7 system partition /NST /. (You can use the virtual drive DAEMON Tools Lite to load the ISO file.) 7. Restart the system, select the NeoGrub boot loader, select Install Fedora Linux 18 to start the installation process. 8. Choose not to install the bootloader during the installation. Otherwise, WIN7 will not start. 9. After installation, change menu.lst to title Fedora Linux 18 root (hd0,0) kernel /nst/vmlinuz root=/dev/sda8 ro initrd /nst/initrd.img (sda8 is my Fedora system partition, same Change to your own partition sdaY, Y is also a number) 10. Restart the computer, select the NeoGrub boot loader, select Fedora Linux 18, and experience Fedora Linux 18. You can also choose to enter WIN7.
