Solve the Win7 prompt "Error 16389, unable to create a new library"

“Library> is a new feature in Windows 7 Managed Files that puts your stuff in one place for easy searching and use. In general, the system provides several common libraries of document libraries, music libraries, image libraries, and video libraries. In addition, we can create your own library according to your needs or your own style of use. However, some students reported that when creating a new library, the system pops up the error message "Unable to create file ‘ New library.library-ms’ file system error (16389)", as shown below ——

Can't create a library? ? Don't worry, this may be because the relevant permissions are limited. Let's first check the setting status of the relevant policy. Type “gpedit.msc” in the Start Search box and press Enter.

If the User Account Control window pops up, please allow to continue.

Open the Group Policy Editor and navigate to the Local Computer Policy section on the left to navigate to "User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Windows Explorer ”.

Click “Windows Explorer” and then find ‘ from the right detail window to prevent users from adding files to the "user folder" corresponding to this user” Under the root of the folder & rsquo;, and double-click to open.

If the policy here is configured to “ Enabled”, this will cause the above error. So, here we have to configure it as “not enabled” then press “OK> to save the changes.

Next, exit the Group Policy Editor and restart your computer.

New “Library  should be able to proceed smoothly.
