Sexy Win7 installation optimization strategy (on)

64-bit cpu and operating system has been released for a few years, but the rivers and lakes rumored that Vista is very rubbish, so it has been over and over, still paddling in xp. Win7
has been launched for more than a year, and it seems that the evaluation is not bad, so I decided to keep up with the pace of the times and upgrade to a 64-bit system. Compared with Vista, Win7 doesn't have much substantive function updates. It's more about functional organization, changes in operational form, and application version upgrades. I don't know much about Vista. I don't know what garbage looks like, but I put it on. In the process of Win7, I saw the typical style of Microsoft - stupid, bloated, self-love, so cleaning up such a large garbage heap is essential.

My notebook is Lenovo (IBM) T400, so there are some unique steps in the installation process, others can not use it, but also wrote down. The installed system is 64-bit, but most of the steps should be valid for 32-bit, but please also use HD principle to decide whether to adopt it.

1, BiOS settings and partitions

First of all, the SATA attribute of BiOS should be set to AHCI mode, and the Display mode should also be selected. See below for details. The T400 is equipped with two integrated and independent graphics cards. Win7 supports hot switching. It needs to be set up to be able to drive normally. Of course, setting it to Compatibility does not affect the installation. You can use one of the graphics cards. But no matter how you choose, each time you enter Win7 system, the attributes of SATA must be the same as those of the installation. Otherwise, it will cause a blue screen. It is very difficult to change the system configuration and get the support. The steps are quite cumbersome.

Win7 will recognize the first logical drive on the first extended partition as the D drive, regardless of the actual location of each partition, idiots. Therefore, you should pay attention to the partition. If you set the second partition as the primary partition and want it to be the D drive, either the primary partition is behind, or the space behind it is not partitioned. After the system is installed, use it again. The tools in the xp boot disk complete the partition.

Win7 upgraded the NTFS file system, the lower version of Ghost can not be identified, so it is recommended that all partition work be done with xp boot disk in DOS or WinPE.

2, installation

process has nothing to say, I installed the flagship version, the installation speed is very fast. Microsoft Lions opened the mouth, suggesting that the system disk 30 G, I set up 18 G, and then small SP1 will be difficult. After installing the system, the network card (excluding the wireless network card), the sound card, and the camera are all driven, so you don't have to prepare drivers for them.

3. Mobile User Folder

When the installation is nearing completion and a dialog box asking for user name and password is displayed, press shift+F10 to bring up the command line window and enter the following command.

robocopy "c:\\users" "d:\\sys\\users" /e /copyall /xj

rmdir "c:\\users" /s /q

Mklink /d "c:\\users" "d:\\sys\\users"

Under Win7, use c:\\users and c:\\programdata to store user and program information by default, which is equivalent to xp Under the Documents and Settings, but the idiot Microsoft still put them on the C drive as usual, the above command is to move the users folder to the D drive sys folder, and create a symbolic link for it on the C drive (symbolic link As explained in more detail below, all access to c:\\users is automatically mapped to d:\\sys\\users, and programdata will be moved later. Since there are still some things to move to the D drive in the future, the unified management of the sys folder is established.

After moving, there will be a small problem, that is, the "Administrative Tools" menu item in the program menu should be a shortcut named Chinese, such as "Event Viewer" will become English name, but not Affect.

4, initial setting

First turn off the UAC prompt in the control panel, many operations can be carried out conveniently.

In the system settings, turn off the virtual memory or move it to another partition to pour out the C drive space.

You can also run the crack program at this time, I use soft change. When the crack is done, it should have no effect on the subsequent installation, but if you don't have Win7 SP1 on hand, you need to go to the Microsoft website to download it, you will be asked to do genuine verification, so I will crack it first.

After rebooting the machine, enter the command line:

powercfg -h off

Used to turn off the hibernation function, it will delete the c drive and the memory capacity. Hibernate.sys file.

After the C disk space is poured out, the C disk is occupied by about 7G, and the SP1 can be installed. Microsoft asked to install SP1 when the C drive has 9G space, which is really stupid. Subsequent optimization will delete and move the files in some system folders. Microsoft will make a look of a virgin woman. SP1 refuses to install it, so it is best to install it at this time.

After several reboots, SP1 is installed, and then the disk is cleaned up on the C drive, and the SP1 backup file 1G will be deleted.

In the "computer" (Win7 with "computer" instead of XP under "My Computer", right click on the icon, right click on the "Properties", enter "system protection", turn off the system restore, and You can pour out 500M+ space.

It is recommended to make a Ghost at this time, because it is easy to happen blue screen after the driver is installed, causing the system to crash, it is necessary to start from scratch.

Do Ghost need to restart BiOS to change the SATA property to Compatibility, Ghost can recognize the hard disk normally (at least the XP installation disk in my hand is like this), after doing it, immediately change the SATA property back. .

5, install the driver

Driver to go to the Lenovo website to download, do not use third-party.

The process of installing the graphics card driver is the most complicated. Others are very easy. There will be a "PCI Proposed Communication Controller" left in the end. It is an Intel AMT chip, which is useless to ordinary users, regardless of it.

The detailed steps of the video card driver found on the Internet:

1. Press the F1 key on the keyboard to enter the BIOS interface when the Think screen starts, and set the Default Primary Video Device to PCI Express in BiOS. Set Graphics Device to Discrete, OS Detection for Switchable Graphics to Disabled;

2. Install Motherboard Chipset Drivers (Intel Chipset Drivers)

3. Install Intel Matrix Storage Manager Hard Disk Driver

4. Install ACPI power driver, which is Power Manager Driver;

5. Install Lenovo System Interface Driver;

6. Install Power Manager power management software

7. Restart your computer. Then install the T400's own ATI graphics driver, note that you need to find the ATI graphics card in the device manager and manually specify the path to install.

8. Restart into BiOS, set Default Primary Video Device to Internal, set Graphics Device to Intergrated, OS Detection for Switchable Graphics to Disabled;

9. After booting into Win7, the system will automatically Install the Mobile Intel 45 Express graphics driver, but this graphics driver is not Intel's, but comes with the ATI driver package installed in the front. If Intel's X4500 driver is installed, there is no way to switch between dual graphics cards. This is the focus of the entire installation process. In the previous installation of the ATI driver, the ATI driver installation program has also installed the X4500 driver.

10. After the installation, restart the computer, let the system automatically install, and then restart again.

11. After rebooting, enter BiOS, set the Graphics Device to Switchable, OS Detection for Switchable Graphics to Ensabled;

12. Start to enter Win7, then it will look like there is no graphics driver installed. Similarly, the system automatically installs the graphics driver as above, and restarts after completion;

13. After entering Win7, click the left button on the battery icon in the taskbar, and the last item in the pop-up black menu. The switchable graphics card is the switch for dual graphics switching.

I basically installed according to the above steps, but it has failed many times. There may be some points to be noted (not strictly verified):

Power management software should be installed in the C drive Next, there are a lot of suggestions on the Internet to move the system default program folder C:\\Program Files and C:\\Program Files (x86) to non-system disks. The next part of this article will introduce related methods, but it is not recommended. In addition to this, moving the program folder will also make SP1 unable to install.

After each video card driver installation is completed, it will be restarted several times to be insured. Especially after the Mobile Intel 45 Express graphics driver is installed, be sure to restart it several times before proceeding to the next step.

When the above steps are taken to step 11, the Default Primary Video Device is Internal, and it is recommended not to change it all the time. After entering the system, if the default graphics card is integrated, switch to stand-alone, then restart, the default is independent, and vice versa, do not have to change to biOS. However, although it can be switched hot, if you have modified the fonts in the Windows theme, etc., the fonts and others will change back to the system default after switching, which is disgusting. At present, I don't know whether the theme can be set under both graphics cards.
