If you have never used a printer before and now want to use a print server to implement a shared printer, you need to follow the steps below to add a printer port and install the printer driver.

1. Select Start
--Control Panel
, then select View Device and Printer
.

2. Click Add Printer
.

3. Select the Add a local printer
.

4. Select Create a new port
, select select the port type Standard TCP /IP Port

5. Enter the print server's IP address, click Next
, windows system will automatically create a corresponding port. After

6. Create a port is successful, the device type select Custom
the next screen and click Settings
button in the pop-up page, select the LPR protocol
, add the queue name to lp1
and check the LPR byte count is enabled. Click the OK
button to continue selecting Next
.


7. Next, the system will prompt you to install the printer drivers, if your printer model in the list of system integration drive, you can simply select the type and click Next to install If you can't find your printer model, choose to install it from disk and then install the printer driver from a CD or other storage device. Continue to click Next
after completing. Step




or more to complete, you can use the print server to enjoy the shared printing.
