Office 97 causes Unable to change Win7 UAC

In the system and security options of the Windows 7 Control Panel, users can change the settings for User Account Control (UAC). In the UAC Settings dialog, you can click the slider to change the security level and press OK to complete the setting change. However, users who install Office 97 on Windows 7 will encounter a failure. After changing the UAC settings, the dialog will not close. Naturally, the UAC level will not be changed.
Microsoft released a manual fix at the end of last year, and said the reason for this problem is that the registry of the system will be changed after installing Office 97, and the registry changes may cause Windows 7 UAC to be changed. Recently, Microsoft provided users with a one-click fix for "Fix it". Users just click the "Fix it" button, click "Open" in the file download dialog box, and then execute the wizard to fix the problem.
Remind everyone that if you reinstall Office 97 after performing the fix, this issue will reappear and users will need to reapply the fix.
