How to turn off Win8.1 update notifications

Since users don't want to update to Windows 8.1 for the time being, and naturally don't want to receive update notifications all the time, is there any way to stop showing update notifications? The answer is of course: yes.
There are two ways to turn off this update notification. One is to change the Group Policy settings, and the other is to modify the registry. In comparison, the former is simpler and safer.
Group Policy:
1, press [Win + R] to open the Run dialog box, enter “gpedit.msc” Enter to open the Group Policy Editor;
2, expand in turn, & ldquo; Computer Configuration ”——“Administrative Template”——“Windows Components", find “app store” this item (in the lower position);

find the app Store this item
3, double-click on the right side of the window to "stop providing updates to the latest version of Windows", in the window that opens, click "already enabled", and then confirm exit.

Close update push notifications
You will no longer receive Windows 8.1 update notifications after this change. When you think you can update to Windows 8.1, change this setting back to &ldquo ; not configured & rdquo;
Registry method:
1, press [Win + R] to open the run dialog box, enter "ldedit", enter the registry editor;
2, expand in order: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREPoliciesMicrosoftWindowsStore; if not One is to create a new one manually.
3, in the right window of the WindowsStore item, create a new DWORD value, named: DisableOSUpgrade, and set its value to 1.

Modify the registry value
4, exit the registry editor, log out or restart the system for the changes to take effect. When you need to accept the update notification again, change the DWORD value to 0 or delete the entire WindowsStore item.
As long as you follow any of the above methods, you can turn off the Windows 8.1 free update notification until you think the time to update to Windows 8.1 is mature.
