What features have been canceled in Win8?

Windows is an operating system that has evolved with the times. In addition to its stylish appearance, Windows 8 has its various features and functions, and many features can be adjusted according to the user's voice. Maybe a certain function has not been as you wished, but it may be difficult to say. What we can see is that many places have become more humane than before. Microsoft has studied the most common functions and operations of users based on telemetry data sent by people who voluntarily join the customer experience program, so let this system be at "8" The times have been reshaped.

The cancellation of Windows features is also an evolution. Win8 has removed some of the features and features of Windows before, and for most users, perhaps you are not aware of these changes. Because the functions and features of these cancellations are mostly low user usage rates, or a related technology has a new development direction, and the old technology needs to be eliminated. Here I summarize a table for you to see which features of Windows 8 have been removed from Windows:

Multimedia
Windows DVD Maker
Windows 8 does not include a DVD authoring solution. This means that users cannot create DVD movie discs for playback in a DVD-Video player without installing additional software.
You can still use Windows 8 to write DVD data discs without additional software.
DVD Decoder
Windows 8 does not include software for watching DVD videos. This software can be obtained by purchasing an additional feature pack (Media Center) or by installing a third-party DVD decoder.
Hardware and Drivers
Standard VGA Drivers
Windows 8 does not include the standard VGA display driver. It has been replaced by the "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter" driver.
This basic driver provides high compatibility by performing display on the CPU instead of the GPU. This may result in performance degradation compared to chipset-specific drivers, so Windows 8 is recommended for use with display adapters that support WDDM.
Support for XPDM Drivers
Windows Vista introduces the Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM) that changes the display driver architecture. Drivers that use the older version of Windows XP model are called Windows XP Driver Model (XPDM) drivers.
Windows 8 is the first version that does not support this old type of driver. This means that if you are using a legacy video card or an older PC that only supports XPDM drivers, it will be limited to the built-in basic drivers in Windows 8.
Startup
Press F8
during startup. For Windows 8, pressing the F8 key during startup does not invoke the boot menu. As the startup performance gets faster and faster, the difficulty of this operation is increasing. Moreover, the need to press F8 is also reduced, if there is a startup problem, the system will automatically provide a startup troubleshooting option.

Windows 8 removed the "previous version" feature and related features for continuous recovery point creation.
The new "File History" feature in Windows 8 will bridge the gap between previous versions and backups.
