Win8/Win8.1 Fun Virtual Machine 6: Hyper-V File Sharing

This week, IT Home brought a series of tutorials for Win8 and Win8.1 users to play Hyper-V virtual machine. For enthusiasts, how to exchange files between physical machines and Hyper-V virtual machines becomes a problem. This time, the IT House organized how to use the Hyper-V virtual disk for file sharing.
If your virtual machine supports connecting to an external network, you can use the network disk tool. But if you are in an intranet environment, then we can use the Hyper-V virtual disk to complete the file sharing function. Compared with VMware and VirtualBox tools, Hyper-V virtual machine has its own unique advantages in file sharing, namely VHD, VHDX virtual disk, native support Win8/Win8.1 platform.
Why does Hyper-V not support the VMware Clipboard Copy File feature?
This is mainly due to the market positioning of Microsoft virtual machine platform, and Hyper-V is also the main security card, disable the clipboard copy file function.
The specific reference tutorial is as follows:
For example, we create a 5G virtual disk for file sharing area
1. Hyper-V virtual disk creation
1. Open the main interface of Hyper-V Manager , select the right menu ribbon, create new hardware

2, according to the new virtual hard disk wizard, Win8 users can choose VHDX virtual disk format.

3. In terms of disk type, the Hyper-V virtual machine supports three types of disks: fixed size, dynamic expansion, and differential disks. Here we can choose fixed size or dynamic expansion.

4. Specify the name and location of the virtual disk

5. For example, if we need a 5G blank virtual disk, we can input 5GB, and the user can use it according to their actual needs.

Finally, the configuration is complete.
Because the newly created virtual disk is a blank disk, it needs to be configured to be recognized and loaded by the current Windows 8 system.
Second, Hyper-V virtual disk configuration articles
1, open the computer management (you can right-click "this computer", select management), then we will find that the newly created 5G virtual disk is not recognized by the Win8 system , the display is not assigned.

2. Right click on the newly created 5G virtual disk 1, initialize the disk, Win8 system supports MBR and GPT scheme, ordinary users can choose MBR partition format
3, at this time, virtual disk 1 can be normally Win8 System identification, marked as online, but still one step to assign tasks

4, right-click the unassigned virtual disk, select New Simple Volume<5>, refer to the New Simple Volume Wizard to complete the virtual disk configuration.

Now that this 5G virtual disk is re-marked as F disk, the user can normally read and write the disk partition, for example, copying programs, files and other data that need to be shared. So how do you load this virtual disk into a Hyper-V virtual machine? Continue to look down.
Three, Hyper-V virtual disk loading articles
1, open the computer management, right click on the virtual disk 1, select offline (or virtual disk in the resource manager, such as F disk, right click and select "pop" )

2, open the virtual machine settings interface in the Hyper-V Manager, such as "Win8.1 Test", select add hardware "disk drive", add effective

3, browse The virtual disk directory of the previously configured VHDX format, such as "New Virtual Disk.vhdx", is valid after confirmation.

Of course, we can also select the Hyper-V check function to view the attribute information of the virtual disk.

4. If the Win8 user enables the secure boot mechanism, the function of loading the virtual disk will be invalid. In this case, you need to remove the "Start Safe Boot" check box.

how to enable the Hyper-V virtual machine to enable secure boot, but also support the loading of vhdx virtual disk?
This is mainly due to the Win8 security boot mechanism, which requires the GPT disk format by default, so the MBR disk format is not recognized. At this time, we only need to change the partition format of the previous virtual disk from MBR to GPT disk format.
5, at this time, we can open the Hyper-V virtual machine system, then, the virtual machine system will automatically load this 5G virtual disk, also achieve file sharing tasks.

If we need to share a new file for the virtual machine, just turn off the virtual machine, mount the virtual disk to complete the file copy, don't forget to "pop" or offline the virtual disk, and then restart Hyper. -V virtual machine, you can share new files.
