IT Home Academy: How to modify the Win7/Win8.1/Win10 login name?

Win10 accounts are divided into local and online. Online Microsoft accounts use more because of the ability to enable features such as app store and sync settings. Users logging in with a Microsoft account can change the display name by modifying the account name, but they must be operated online, and the control panel and Settings cannot be modified. If you log in with a local account, you can modify the display name in the control panel.

But sometimes you need to change the login name. At this time, changing the display name will not work. For example, in some enterprise networks, users need to know the login name in order to connect to Active Directory and other content. In addition, depending on the device type and network settings, when connecting to different types of network shares or managing other computer resources, you may be asked for a login name, so it is necessary to know and modify this name.

This method is also applicable to the Win7/Win8.1 system, which can be set in Computer Management → Local Users and Groups.
The specific method is as follows:
1, right click on the Win10 Professional Start button, select "Computer Management".
2, click "local users and groups", find the account that requires modification.
3, "Name" column shows the account login name, which is the standard user name; "Full name" is the display name, which is convenient for users to identify.

4, right click on the selected account, select "Rename" to modify the login name (above); after selecting the property, you can modify the full name (display name) in the pop-up window, as shown below ——

It should be noted that Windows 10 Home Edition “Computer Management” does not have the above functions, so related users are temporarily unable to use this method.
