After the release of Win8 Consumer Preview, what kind of computer can install Win8 has become the most concerned issue for everyone. A few days ago, Microsoft Group Vice President Grant George announced on the official blog some of the hardware (not system requirements) that is most suitable for the Windows 8 consumer preview, and introduced some technical details.

In the initial phase of the Win8 project, Microsoft's goal was that Win8 would tell you "whatever you can", no matter what the user wants to do on the computer. In other words, Win8 is comprehensive in all aspects of low consumption, portability and ease of use.

For example, Win8 does not only provide users with a fixed pattern, but can seamlessly switch between different modes according to their preferences and needs. To achieve this goal, first make sure Win8 is suitable for most hardware and peripherals.

Grant George said in a blog post that Microsoft recommends running Win8 with a Win7 logo-certified computer. The recommended configuration for Win8 Consumer Preview is as follows:

CPU: 1GHz or faster processor

Memory: 1GB RAM (32 bit) or 2GB RAM (64 bit)

Hard disk: 16GB free hard disk space (32 bit) or 20GB free hard disk space (64 bit)

Graphics card: DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver

Since the Metro app is full-screen in Win8, running a Metro style app requires a screen resolution of at least 1024x768. If it is lower than this resolution, you will receive an error when launching the Metro style app.

Computer Software and Hardware Application Network Edit PS: In addition, if your configuration can run Windows 7 smoothly, it can run smoothly on the same hardware that supports Windows 7
