Create Win8's WinToGo workspace via command line

  
                                    

In this example, the system disk is the C drive, the mobile drive is the E, and the F drive is the mounted Win 8 image.

Step 1, press Win+X, in the pop-up menu, click Command Prompt (Administrator), then type and run diskpart;

Step 2, type list disk, Then you can see the disk on your computer, where Disk1 is your own U disk;

The third step, enter the command in the following figure, format the U disk and activate the partition, then assign the drive letter For E;

The fourth step, enter the command in the following figure, by using the dism program to release the contents of the install.wim file in the mounted F drive to the E drive;

In one step, type bcdboot e:windows /se: /f ALL to enable the partition to boot.

This way, Windows To Go is finished, and now you only need to reboot into the system and make a simple final setup to take advantage of this system.

Remarks:

Win8 Enterprise Edition has its own graphical Windows To Go creation function, which can be created without using the command line.
