Tips for improving the usability of the Win8 system Skydrive

The Windows 8 system has a major new feature, which is Microsoft's focus on the cloud service Skydrive (renamed Onedirve in Windows 8.1). However, in the domestic network environment, files synchronized by Skydrive are often unavailable. So how to make Skydrive better?

[Solutions]

Under Windows 8 default settings, all files in the desktop version of SkyDrive are "Online available", only in Once a file is opened, it will be downloaded locally to the file. We can break through the solution from this point.

[Workaround]

Enter the Windows 8 desktop environment, open the file explorer, select “SkyDrive” in the navigation tree on the left, and select it in the right pane. Right-click on the file or folder and select “Offline Available” from the right-click menu so that these files are available without the network. Of course this will take up hard disk space.

If you have enough hard disk space, you can also consider setting all files to "Offline available": Open SkyDrive from the start screen, select "Settings" from the super toolbar, and enter the settings interface. Select “Options" in the right pane to set "Offline access to all files" to be enabled. At this time, if you right click on the SkyDrive folder or file in the desktop environment, the right-click menu will increase the option of "Online available".

As a result, we can use the Skydrive cloud service more comfortably under Windows 8. Although domestic cloud service products such as Baidu Cloud are also doing very well, Skydrive will always be favored by some people because of the advantages of the system's own integration.
