Ctrl+shift is back: find out the Chinese-American keyboard in Win8

As we all know, Win8 rigorously categorizes input methods. Chinese input methods can only be added to Chinese input methods, such as Microsoft Pinyin (see the figure below).

But in the previous days of Win7 and XP, Chinese input method was able to add English.

So in the Chinese input method, "Chinese-American keyboard" is blocked by default. Some old users may be accustomed to switching input methods with ctrl+shift, and now feel very uncomfortable.

Then we can retrieve the Chinese American keyboard.

1. Open CMD, type regedit to open the registry editor;

2. Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Keyboard Layout/Substitutes, create a new “string value”, The name is 00000804, the value is 00000409;

3. Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Keyboard Layout/Preload, create a new “string value”, the name is 1, the value is 00000804 (if “1” already exists directly Update the value);

After these are done, then go and see, "Language Options" is not found inside "Chinese-American keyboard" is back.
