How to share printers under win 2003 system

  

Sometimes, especially in the enterprise, several computers share a printer, so the sharing of the printer becomes a must, but how to achieve printer sharing, especially when using the win 2003 system. How can this be done?

By default, Windows Server 2003-based computers are equipped with "Microsoft Network Client", "Microsoft Network File and Printer Sharing" and TCP /IP.

Note: You can view these services in the properties of your local connection.

You can manually create a Windows Server 2003 file server and print server, or you can use the wizard provided in the "Configure your server wizard" management tool.

How to use the "Configure Your Server Wizard" to install a file server on Windows Server 2003

Click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click “Configure Server Wizard”.

Click Next.

Click Next.

Click on “File Server" in the “Server Roles" box, and then click Next.

On the &#quo>File Server Disk Quotas  page, configure the quotas you need to control disk space usage on the server, and then click Next.

On the "File Server Indexing Service" page, click the index configuration that is appropriate for your server, and then click Next.

Click Next.

Click Finish.

“Share Folder Wizard”Starts. Click Next.

Click Browse , locate the folder you want to share, and then click OK.

Click Next.

Type a share name for the folder and click Next.

Click a basic permission for a folder, or click Customize to set custom permissions on a folder. Click Finish.

Click Close.

How to manually install a file server on Windows Server 2003

Click Start , and then click Windows Explorer.

Find the folder you want to share.

Right-click the folder and click "Share & Security”.

Click “Share this folder", then accept the default share name or enter a different share name.

Alternatively, configure the number of users who can connect to the folder, configure permissions for that folder, and then configure caching options.

Click OK.

A small hand will appear in the Windows Explorer window indicating that the folder has been shared.

Exit Windows Explorer.
