Win8.1 compressed volume prompts no solution for free space

A Win8.1 user has a problem with the C drive compression after the system update. It can be fully compressed. Now after compressing a part, compress it again and it indicates that there is no space available. However, when this user views the size of the C drive, he sees that the space of the C drive is sufficient. How to solve this problem?

Cause Analysis:

It is possible that the software or patch is installed, causing the system to create a restore point, which causes the compressed volume function to compress only the space available in the second half.

Solution:

1. When this failure
occurs, first turn off the system protection function and delete the restore point.

The specific method is as follows:

1) Enter the system properties and find the system protection. FIG:

2) configured to select, turn off system protection, and selects a restore point before deleting deleted, as shown:

2. After disabling system protection and deleting the restore point, if the C drive still cannot be compressed, it is recommended that you back up the data and restore the system with one click.

Many users have been hesitant to disable system protection and system restore. Admittedly, these two system modules are better at ensuring system security, but if you use third-party security software or use a method such as Ghost to back up your system, then these two features can be disabled.
