Research company Net Applications released a report on Thursday that the installed base rate of Windows10 has risen steadily in the past two months. So far, its PC-end market share has climbed to nearly 7%.



Windows 10 was officially launched on July 29 this year. Net Applications data shows that in September this year, Windows 10 market share increased by 5.2% to 6.63% compared with August.

It is reported that Microsoft will provide free upgrades for Windows 7 and Windows 8 users within one year of the listing, while new PC users will use paid installation. However, with the decline in sales of desktop computers, most of Win 10's installed capacity comes from free upgrades.

In addition, Windows 8 accounted for 13.3% of PCs in September, down from 14% in August and 15.9% in July. It is reported that Windows 7 is still the most widely used operating system on the PC side, with a market share of 56.5%, but still down from 57.7% in August and 60.7% in July.

In addition, Net Applications said that as of last month, 90.5% of the PCs on the Internet were running Microsoft's Windows family of operating systems. Apple's Mac operating system is second, accounting for 7.7% of the market.

And mobile operating system, Google's Android system ranked first with 53.5% market share, followed by Apple's iOS system, accounting for 38.6%, while Microsoft's Windows smartphone operating system It ranked third with a market share of 2.5%.
