Win8.1 RT version can not run the general application after installing Update 3?

Microsoft officially stated that Windows RT devices (mainly Surface 2 devices) will soon be welcoming Update3 updates, and after the upgrade, Windows RT devices will only be able to run RT applications, not Universal applications (Universal app). If you are a Windows developer, you must have heard of Microsoft's new idea: Universal Applications. The idea behind it is that you can run your application on any Microsoft platform, the only change is just the application's interface, not its underlying code. However, if you are a Windows RT user, the universal application means that your device has reached its end.

Microsoft officially stated that Windows RT devices (mainly Surface 2 devices) will soon be welcoming Update3 updates, and after the upgrade, Windows RT devices will only be able to run RT applications, rather than running universal applications ( Universal app), which seems to be announcing the exclusion of Windows RT devices and systems from Microsoft's ubiquitous, cross-device strategy.

This means that if a developer is to exploit Microsoft's latest technology to develop a universal application, the developer's application will not run on this older tablet.

For Windows RT users, there is neither Windows 10 upgrade nor universal application support. In the future, it seems that it is pouring a bucket of cold water. Windows RT may become another abandoned child of Microsoft.

Microsoft claims the following:

Surface (RT, Surface 2 and third-party ARM-based Windows PCs and tablets) can only run RT versions of applications, but not general Windows applications. However, there are already many applications that support RT systems working properly, and all RT users can continue to enjoy applications, games, music and movie content.

Therefore, these devices not only fail to get Windows 10 upgrades, they also don't get the new universal applications that Microsoft is pushing for developers to develop. You no longer need to get any hints, Microsoft has now explicitly abandoned the Windows RT platform, and this update will become the final swan of the system.
