Windows RT 8.1 Update 3 released in September will be added to the improved version of the lock screen

A few weeks ago, the exclusive release of Windows RT 8.1 Update 3 will add a new start menu for Windows RT devices and add some other minor changes. Today, Microsoft confirmed this rumor, the start menu will indeed come with Update 3, together with an improved version of the lock screen effect.

Microsoft has updated their Windows 10 FAQ (according to WMPU reports) page to add more details about Windows RT upgrades for users:

If you are running Windows RT system, your device will not be upgraded to Windows 10. We will provide an update for it in September 2015, this update will improve its system menu and lock screen. Check your Windows RT device update to make sure the device is available for download when the update is available.

I have already explained that this new start menu with Update 3 is based on the DirectUI start menu of the previous Windows 10 Technology Preview. Instead of using the start menu you saw in the official version of Windows 10. This is because the DirectUI start menu is written directly based on the 8.1 code and interface, while the new start menu for Windows 10 is written using the special programming interface of Windows 10. Microsoft plans to release the Windows 8.1 Update 3 system for the existing Windows RT devices in September. If it is not so obvious, it is reiterated that Windows RT is a dead system platform, and Update 3 will most likely be the last feature update of the platform before the technical support period.
