Win10 is not completely free upgrade. Enterprise version still needs to charge

  

At the press conference held on the 21st of this month, Microsoft officially confirmed that Windows 10 will adopt a free upgrade strategy. Existing Windows 7/8/8.1 users can upgrade to the latest Windows 10 system for free. In the official blog post updated today, Microsoft clarified that the free upgrade strategy does not cover the enterprise version of the system that requires software support, and revealed that it will push different system updates for the enterprise to distinguish. Enterprise customers will receive a very complete beta version of the Windows 10 system that is compatible with existing hardware and the outdated software runtime environment required by the current enterprise.

Microsoft will continue to provide two branches for such customers, the Long Term Servicing Branch and the Current Branch for Business. The former will continue to receive the latest and best security updates and enterprise upgrade support, but will not push the consumer version of the feature update during the system support cycle, which will push the feature update in the consumer version when the service is Windows Insider tests successfully and pushes without affecting system compatibility.
