Say goodbye to "system crash"

In the Win 95 era, crashes and system crashes are commonplace. Although Bill Gates has repeatedly stressed that Win 98 has eliminated many bugs, everyone knows that it is just replacing the old one with a new one. The bug, the actual situation is still the same thing. Although the system is always unstable, we still can't live without it. It seems that we only have one more hand.

Good Dongdong is introduced to you today. If your Win 95/98 is angry with you, then you will use it to "repair" and keep you satisfied. Win Rescue 95/98 is a 30-day shared software (downloadable from http://tucows.hnpta.net.cn/files3/rescue81.exe), divided into Windows 95 and Windows 98, two versions. The method and principle of use are basically the same, but they cannot be mixed because of the different systems of the application. The following uses the Windows 98 version as an example to introduce the principle and usage of Win Rescue.

There are many new features in Win Rescue 98 Version 3.04 that provide powerful backup and recovery functions:

1. You can back up 13 different files, including the registry and system. Boot files, system configuration files such as System.ini, Win.ini, Autoexec.bat, Config.sys, dosstar.dat, etc., and personal settings information such as start menu, desktop, favorites, and document menus, and allow users to add additional files. , a folder, or a set of files to a specified backup.

2, provide five different ways to restore the registry.

3. Provide wildcards to back up and restore entire directories and subdirectories.

4, able to compress and repair the registry.

5, provide an emergency boot disk, you can use it to restore the system under DOS when your Windows can not start.

6. Allow users to modify the backup of the system files that come with Win 98 (including turning off Win 98's own system backup function, changing its backup save location, and setting the number of backups of Win 98's own system backup. Wait).

7. Allow users to make unlimited backups of the system, so that system files of each period can be provided when the system crashes, thus increasing the reliability of system recovery.

8. Provide multiple compression ratios for the files being backed up to save disk space and limit the compression ratio.

9. Specify the backup interval period or use the Win 98 scheduled task list to automatically back up.

The main interface that appears after running Win Rescue 98 is shown in Figure 1. If there is no registration, a delay registration interface will appear at startup, but it does not affect the use. The main interface is divided into Backup, Restore, Regpack, Config, BootDisk and Help. Each interface has a big button on each interface. Clicking on each big button can complete the task of the corresponding project. All the program parameters. The settings are all done in the parameter setting interface (as shown in Figure 2). You can enter it through the large button of the Config item, or you can click the small button at the bottom of the Backup and Restore items to enter directly.

The Backup item is used to back up the Windows 98 system files and the files you specify and compress them into a folder with the current date as the file name. There is also a "Change Backup Preferences" button below the item. Click on it to go directly to the parameter settings and change the default backup mode of Win Rescue.

The Restore item is used to restore the backup. Pressing the Restore Temp button will bring up a dialog box with five recovery methods for you to choose from. They are sorted according to priority. In general, it is best to follow this order when restoring. The first method is Restore Temporary Backup. This backup is the backup that is automatically performed every time the Win 98 system starts. If Windows startup problems are generally concentrated in these system files, Win Restore uses this backup to restore the system first. The second method is Restore Permanent Backup. This backup is generated by the Backup option and includes system files, personal settings, personally specified files, folders and file groups. When you use the first recovery method, the backup method is unsuccessful. This method is used. The third method is Restore Spare Registry. This backup is the latest registry backup generated by Win Rescue. When you determine that the problem is in the registry, you can choose to restore the registry in this way. The fourth way is Restore from Diskette. This method is basically the same as the second one, except that the backup content is stored on the floppy disk, but it cannot be restored under DOS. The fifth way is Restore Original Registry, of course, this is the last resort. If the first four methods can not restore your system, this method can call the original registry generated when Windows 98 is installed, but after using it to recover Need to re-install all the application software, so no less than a last resort, or do not use this trick, you must know that reloading all the application software does not equate to the installed operating system. After selecting the recovery method, Win Rescue will automatically restore the backup and restart the system. There is also a "Change Rstore Preferences" button below the item. Click on it to go directly to the parameter settings and change Win Rescue's default recovery method.

The role of the Regpack option is to call the registry checker Scanreg that comes with Windows 98 to detect the registry. Press the RegPack button and the system will return to DOS and run Scanreg.exe/fix to check the registry. , fix and compress, if you check the Registry below, the registry will be detected under Windows.

The Config option can be used to make the necessary settings for Win Rescue. For most users, the default settings provided by Win Rescue are completely sufficient, but if you need to add some important personal files to the backup list. You can open the Files item, click the "Add" button, then select the file you want to back up and add it to the "Files to Backup and Restore" list. If you want to be able to back up your files frequently, you can use the Multifiles backup feature to select a set of files for backup based on the file's directory name or file extension. Click the Multifiles item, then click the "Add" button to select the location of the backup file. You can choose to back up a directory (you can select whether to include subdirectories as needed) or choose to back up files of the same type (such as suffix DOC, ZIP file) ) and assign a name to the selected file so that these files can be automatically backed up each time you back up. If you need to run Win Rescue at the specified time, you can set the automatic backup cycle to add to the Windows 98 task list in Automation, and specify the backup time in the task list.

The BootDisk option helps users create an emergency boot disk. When the Windows 98 system crashes and cannot enter safe mode, you will find it really works. First put a floppy disk in the floppy drive, then press the Boot Disk button, the system will call the DOS command to make the boot disk. After the production is finished, write it to protect and put it in a safe place. Of course, don't forget to test it once, otherwise...

The Win Rescue detailed instructions and usage guide are provided in the Help option.

If one day, you find that your computer can no longer enter the blue sky and white clouds or always tell you that you can not find the system files, then find out your Win Rescue 98 Boot Disk into the floppy drive, start the system, follow the prompts Recovery, everything is so labor-saving, you will find the system crash for the first time is very easy to get, with Win Rescue you will never worry about the system crash.
