When Windows starts, there are usually a lot of programs that start automatically. Don't think that the "Start → Programs → Startup" menu is all right. In fact, in Windows XP/2K, there are many ways to let Windows automatically start the program. The following two important folders and eight registration keys are told. . First, the current user-specific startup folder This is a common location for many applications to automatically start, Windows automatically launches all shortcuts into the folder. The user startup folder is typically located at: \\Documents and Settings\\<user name>\\"Start" menu\\Programs\\Startup, where "<username>" is the name of the currently logged in user account. Second, the effective startup folder for all users This is the second important location to find the automatic startup program, no matter what user login system, the shortcut to the folder is always automatically started - this is it and the user The difference between the proprietary startup folder. This folder is typically found at: \\Documents and Settings\\All Users\\Start Menu\\Programs\\Startup. Third, the Load registration key There is not much information about the registration key. In fact, it can also automatically start the program. Location: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\WindowsNT\\CurrentVersion\\Windows\\load. Fourth, Userinit registration key Location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\WindowsNT\\CurrentVersion\\Winlogon\\Userinit. This also enables the program to be automatically initialized when the system starts up. Usually there is a userinit.exe under the registration key, as shown in Figure 1, but this key allows to specify multiple programs separated by commas, such as "userinit.exe, OSA.exe" (without quotes).

Five, Explorer\\Run registration key is different from load and Userinit. Explorer\\Run key is available under HKEY_CURRENT_USER and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. The specific location is: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Policies\\Explorer\\Run , and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Policies\\Explorer\\Run. 6. RunServicesOnce registration key The RunServicesOnce registration key is used to start the service program. The startup time is before the user logs in, and before the other programs started by the registration key. The location of the RunServicesOnce registration key is: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\RunServicesOnce, and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\RunServicesOnce. Seven, RunServices registration key RunServices registration key specified program runs immediately after the program specified by RunServicesOnce, but both before the user login. The location of RunServices is: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\RunServices, and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\RunServices. Eight, RunOnce\\Setup registration key RunOnce\\Setup specifies the program that runs after the user logs in. Its location is: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\RunOnce\\Setup, and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\RunOnce \\Setup. 9. RunOnce Registration Key The installer usually runs the program automatically with the RunOnce key. Its location is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\RunOnce and HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\RunOnce. The RunOnce key under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE will run the program immediately after the user logs in. The runtime is before the program specified by the other Run keys. The RunOnce key under HKEY_CURRENT_USER runs after the operating system processes the other Run keys and the contents of the Startup folder. If it is XP, you also need to check HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\RunOnceEx. X. Run Registration Key Run is the most commonly used registration key for autorun programs. The location is: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Run, and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Run. The Run key under HKEY_CURRENT_USER runs immediately following the Run key under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, but both are before the Startup folder.
