OneDrive integrated into Win10, no longer as a stand-alone application

Computer store news: Microsoft Windows Insider project leader Gabriel Aul said on Twitter today that OneDrive cloud storage service is being directly integrated into Windows 10 system, no longer as a A standalone application exists.

Aul responded in his tweets to "Why OneDrive is not a universal app" when asked: "OneDrive will integrate directly into Windows 10, not an app".

What impact will this change have on Windows 10 users? We don't know how OneDrive integrates into Windows 10, and how this will change the features and performance of OneDrive.

This integration will be similar to Skype, which replaces the Windows 8.1 Messenger service. But Skype is still a Modern app, but it has been deeply integrated with the operating system. Google has integrated the Google Drive cloud storage service into its Chrome OS, and Apple has also integrated iCloud services on iOS and Mac.

There are still many issues pending for Windows 10, and we hope to learn more at Microsoft Build 2015.
