Clock options for Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1

  

Computer Store News: If you want to add a clock to the "Start" screen or desktop, you can use the various clock, timer, and alarm apps in the Windows Store.

If you want to see the time, swipe from the right edge of the screen to the center. Or, if you use a mouse, point to the lower right corner of the screen and move the pointer up.

Search for a clock in the Windows Store

Swipe in from the right edge of the screen and click "Search”. (If using the mouse, point to the top right corner of the screen, then move the mouse pointer down, then click “search”.)

Enter “store” in the search box, then click or single Click “Store”.

Swipe in from the right edge of the screen and click "Search”. (If using a mouse, point to the top right corner of the screen, then move the mouse pointer down, then click “search”.)

Enter “clock” in the search box, then press Enter .

Browse the list of apps until you find your favorite clock, tap or click the clock, and then tap or click “Install”.

Adding an additional time zone to the desktop clock

On the desktop, you can also add two additional time zones to the clock in the notification area at the far right of the taskbar.

On the desktop, long press or right-click the date and time in the notification area, and then tap or click “Adjust Date/Time”.

Click or click the “Additional Clock” tab, select “Show this clock”, select the time zone you want to select, and enter the time zone name. Repeat this if you want to add a third clock.

Click or click “OK”. Now you can view the time in other time zones by clicking or pointing to the time and date in the taskbar.

The Gadgets Gallery is no longer available on Windows sites, but some apps are more useful than gadgets, and many are available for free.
