Microsoft will receive 5% tablet market share next year

Computer store news: Just recently, Microsoft's Julie Larson-Green strongly hinted that Windows RT may disappear sometime in the future. At the UBS Global Technology Summit, Larsen-Green acknowledged in the Q&A session that Microsoft will not have three major operating system platforms (Windows Phone, Windows 8, and Windows RT).

In a recent report by Canalys, the estimated market share of Microsoft tablets is expected to reach 5% next year. Most importantly, Canalys shared the feelings of Microsoft when it has three major OS platforms.

Canalys research analyst Pin Chen Tang said that having three major OS platforms will create confusion and confusion for developers and consumers, in order to better promote their mobile device ecosystem, The first thing Microsoft has to do is to solve the problem of coexistence between Windows Phone and Windows RT.

Of course, with Microsoft's acquisition of Nokia's smart device business, the company is expected to see another major change in 2014. In the future, there will probably be only two major OS platforms, Windows Phone and Windows. This idea is not new, it just doesn't seem to happen in a short time.

Larson-Green said that Microsoft already has Windows Phone, Windows RT, and full Windows, but it doesn't plan to have three at the same time. She believes that the world only needs a mobile operating system that does not have to worry about battery risk, while taking into account flexibility and security, and they will follow this path.
