Restore Windows 8 Classic Start Menu

Computer Shop News:

With the release of the Windows 8 Developer Preview, I believe many whites have been tested, but users will release the classic Windows 8 menu replaced by the Metro UI interface. Is it hard to get used to on a non-touch screen? There is now a way to get Windows 8 back to the classic start menu for Windows 7.

Here's how:

1. Run “regedit” to open the Registry Editor.

2. Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer.

3. Change the value of RPEnabled on the right from 1 to 0.

This traditional start menu is back. To restore it, just change the value of RPEnabled back to 1. However, the modification also disables the Metro UI interface.
