According to Microsoft’s just-released security bulletin this month, on Tuesday, October 12, local time, Microsoft will release 16 security patches to fix 49 security vulnerabilities, which will break the June and August records.

Of the 16 patches to be released next week, 4 are the highest severity level, fixing remote code execution vulnerabilities affecting Windows and IE; 10 are important levels, fixing remotes in Windows and Office Code execution, privilege escalation, and DOS denial of service attack vulnerabilities.

The 49 security vulnerabilities that will be fixed next week are affected by a wide range of software, including almost all versions of Microsoft, Windows, Office and IE products, including: Windows 2000 SP4, Windows XP SP2, Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista SP2, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003 SP2, Windows Server 2008 SP2, IE6IE7, IE8, Office 2003, Office 2007, Office 2008 Mac, Office SharePoint Services 3.0 SP1.
