Windows PE Emergency System Installation Steps (1)

Windows PE (hereinafter referred to as PE) is a commonly used emergency system. It can be easily installed in this machine to perform effective maintenance operations in the event of a Windows failure. However, many people do not install PE when the system is normal, and think of it when the system fails to enter due to serious failure. Is there a way to make up for it? Have! Here are the specific steps for everyone.

First, please enter the PE into the door As a maintenance system, we naturally hope that the PE function is as strong as possible. For computers that are no longer able to access the system, we must first download the PE on other normal computers. I downloaded the PE version made by the netizen old peach, which is a PE that can access the Internet. Step 1: Prepare a bootable flash memory with a capacity of more than 128MB. Copy the required file edit.com and the NIC driver to the root directory of the flash. For example, the author is an 8169 network card. You can create a new directory named 8169 in the flash memory and copy all the driver files to this directory. The downloaded PE is a GHO image. After opening the image using Ghost Explorer, copy all the files to U:\\pe (U refers to the flash drive letter).

Step 2: Use the flash memory to boot to DOS on the faulty computer. Enter the following command to copy the files required by the PE to c:\\. Cd a:\\pe copy *.* c:\\ When the screen prompts that the system already has ntldr, NTDETECT.COM, and boot.ini files, select No. Do not overwrite these three system files. Note: a: in the above command refers to the flash drive letter after booting to DOS, and c: is the system disk of the original system. If you are making HDD mode boot flash, the flash drive letter may be c:, you need to change the system disk drive letter of the original system to d:, if the system disk is NTFS format, you need to use NTFSDOS to copy files.

Step 3: In DOS, continue to enter the following command to edit Boot.ini, add PE boot entry: Attrib –s –h –rc:\\boot.ini Cancel boot.ini hidden, system, read-only Attribute Edit c:\\boot.ini After opening boot.ini, add "c:\\avldr.xpe="Windows PE"" at the end of the text and save it so that the computer can be booted to PE after restarting.

Second, the system repaired with PE After the above operation, we have successfully installed PE on the faulty computer, now unplug the flash and reboot, select "Windows PE" in the multi-boot menu, the system will automatically load The necessary files are launched to the PE. Now you can use this PE to perform the repair operation. A common startup failure can be repaired with PE: a computer with Windows XP installed, each time you click the user name to log in on the login interface, "Loading personal settings" appears, but you can log out and cannot enter the system. The repair method is as follows:

Step 1: After entering the PE, double-click the desktop “Start Network Support” to open the network components of the PE. This PE has its own network card driver. If you can automatically install the local network card, return to the desktop and double-click "Broadband Connection". Enter the ISP account and password as prompted to go online. However, the PE does not include the 8169 NIC driver, we need to install it manually.

Step 2: Right-click on the desktop "My Computer" and select "Manage". In the window that opens, switch to "Device Manager". Click "View → Show Hidden Devices" in the menu bar. In the right pane, expand other devices→Ethernet Controllers, right-click and select Update Driver.

Step 3: In the pop-up installation wizard window, select "Install from list or specific location" → "Do not search, I have to choose the driver to install" → Select "network adapters" in the hardware type list ".

Step 4: The remaining operations follow the on-screen instructions, choose to install the driver from the disk, and select the NIC driver in the flash memory to install. After the NIC driver is successfully installed, the system prompts you to restart. You must select No at this time. Return to the desktop to open the broadband connection, enter the ISP account and password to connect to the network as prompted, use the desktop IE to access the Internet.

Step 5: Edit and repair the registry. Start the Registry Editor, select the [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE] primary key, click "File → Load Hive" in the menu bar, load the

barrier or the system registry file c:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\config\\SOFTWARE At the same time, the name of the add-on is named "CPCW". Expand [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\CPCW\\Microsoft\\Windows NT\\CurrentVersion\\Winlogon], and then create a new string named userinit in the right pane and assign the value "c:\\windows\\system32\\userin1t.exe," Repair the system.

Summary: This method is also suitable for computers that cannot boot to PE with USB flash drive, because we are installing PE on the hard disk. After starting to enter PE, the first thing we should do is to ensure that we can access the Internet. Because many of the required tools can be downloaded online. In addition, we can also use anti-virus software in the PE environment (when the DLL file is missing, just go to c:\\windows\\system32 to extract), start the Ghost32 recovery system, and so on.
