Tutorial on the lossless partitioning of the disk partitions that come with the Windows Server 2008 system.

If you want to make non-destructive adjustments to the disk partitions, you often need to download them using professional disk management tools. For example, the commonly used tools are PartitionMagic. , PowerQuest, etc. So, is there no professional disk management tool to help, we have no way to make a lossless adjustment to the disk partition? the answer is negative! In the Windows Server 2008 system environment, we can use the system's own disk partition management function, you can easily make a lossless adjustment of the disk partition!

Draw new partitions in existing partitions

Many times, when your computer just bought it, it only contains one disk partition, and its space capacity may reach hundreds of GB. In the old version of the system environment, it is often difficult to draw some disk space from it as a new disk partition. It must be done with some professional tools; however, in the Windows Server 2008 system environment, we will It can be done very easily. Now, this article is a step by step, detailed introduction to the operation of creating a new disk partition in the Windows Server 2008 system environment:

First enter the Windows Server 2008 system environment with system administrator privileges, in the system desktop Click the “Start” "Start”/“Run” command, in the pop-up system run text box, enter the string command “compmgmt.msc”, click the Enter key to enter the Windows Server 2008 system computer management Window;

Secondly, display the area on the left side of the management window, and then use the mouse to expand the "Computer Management" "Storage”/“Disk Management" branch option (as shown in Figure 1). ), in the corresponding display area of the "Disk Management" branch option, we will clearly see the disk partition settings in the local system;

Use the mouse to select the new partition to be divided The target disk partition, and right-click the disk partition, execute the "Compress Volume" command from the pop-up shortcut menu, enter the Figure as shown in Figure 2. Compression Settings dialog box, from which we can also very intuitively see the amount of disk space that can be split and the total capacity of the original disk partition; in the dialog box, enter the amount of compressed space & text; , correctly input the amount of disk space to be split out. When you click the “Compress” button in the corresponding dialog box, the Windows Server 2008 system will automatically compress and split the original disk partition;

Wait until the end of the compression split operation, the disk space capacity will be automatically displayed behind the original disk partition, and the corresponding partition options also have the words "free space"; use the right mouse button to click “ Free space & disk; partition from the pop-up context menu to execute the "New Simple Volume" command, open the Create Wizard dialog box shown in Figure 3; in the "Simple Volume Size" text box of the dialog box , enter the amount of space in the new disk partition, but the value entered here must be between the maximum amount of disk space and the smallest Between the amount of disk space;

After setting the space capacity of the new disk partition, click the "Next" button to enter the wizard settings window shown in Figure 4; in this setting In the window, we can select the option to assign the following drive letter & rdquo; and specify an unused disk partition symbol for the new disk partition. Generally, we only need to use the default allocated disk partition symbol; if we want to later When you assign the disk partition symbol to the new disk partition uniformly, we can also select the "Do not assign drive letter or drive path" option;

Then continue to click “Next&rdquo ; button, from the wizard settings window shown in Figure 5, select “ format this setting by the following settings, then set the file system format and volume format, and then select “ perform quick format ”Options; after confirming that the above information is set correctly, click the “Complete" button in the wizard settings window, then There partition carved out a new district will be able to take effect.

Combining multiple partitions into one partition

Since it is easy to split a disk partition into several disk partitions, is it also very good in the Windows Server 2008 system environment? Easily merge several disk partitions into one disk partition? In theory, it can be done very easily; however, after many attempts by the author, I found that in the Windows Server 2008 system environment, several disk partitions cannot be directly merged into one disk partition, but we can follow the following methods. Inter-homing merges multiple partitions into one partition:

First, follow the same operation method, open the computer management window of Windows Server 2008 system, display the area on the left side of the window, and click the computer with the mouse. Manage ” /& ldquo; Storage & rdquo; /& ldquo; disk management & rdquo; node option, in the corresponding "Disk Management" node option to the right of the display area, first select a disk partition to be retained; then open the system Explorer window, copy all other disk partitions that need to be merged into the reserved partition to the reserved partition;

Next, use the mouse to select several other disk partitions that need to be merged, and right-click They, click on the "Delete Volume" option from the pop-up shortcut menu, then the screen will appear As shown in the dialog box shown in Figure 6, this dialog box reminds us that before merging other partitions, we must do a good job of data backup; click the "yes" button in the dialog box, Windows Server 2008 system will automatically The disk partitions that are selected are deleted. The space capacity of these disk partitions will also appear in the "free space" area;

Then right-click on the previously reserved state. Disk partition, and execute the "Extended Volume" command in the right-click menu, then click the "Next" button in the wizard settings window to open the settings dialog shown in Figure 7; The maximum amount of available space is rdquo; at the text box, the displayed capacity is the capacity that can be used for expansion. We only need to enter the capacity to be expanded in the “Select space” folder, generally only a few The total capacity of the merged partition can be filled in here, then click the "Next" button, and finally click the "Complete" button, which will result in multiple points. The amount of space will be merged into a disk partition, and so we will be able to indirectly achieve the purpose of the merger of the disk partitions. Previous 12 Next Read the full story
