        "Ultimate Extras" is an additional feature element designed by Microsoft for users of the Vista Ultimate (Ultimate Edition) operating system. However, many users of Vista Chinese may have already discovered that the update speed of Ultimate Extras is much slower than the English version. For example, the Simplified Chinese version provides downloads of the Extras feature for the time being only BitLocker and EFS enhancements, while the English version has two more programs, "Hold Em Poker Game" and "Windows DreamScene".
After some Vista user research, it was found that a string value in Vista's registry file dominates which items in Ultimate Extras can be downloaded. Just change the string value to the value of the English version. After you enter the Ultimate Extras download area of ​​Microsoft's official website through Vista's Windows Update automatic upgrade program, the same download program as the English version will appear.
The specific modification method is as follows:
1. Enter "regedit" in the "Search" column of the "Start" menu to open the registry editor program. Locate the "HKEY_LOCAL_MacHINE\\SYSTEM\\CurrentControlSet\\Control\\Nls\\Language" registry entry in the left window of the editor. Then right click on the DWord value named "InstallLanguage" in the right window of the editor, select "Modify", first write down the original value, then change it to "0409" (Figure 1). The purpose of this is to temporarily disguise the Chinese version of the Vista system into an English version, in order to achieve the purpose of downloading more Ultimate Extras elements on the Microsoft website.

2, restart the computer, link to the Microsoft official website through the Windows Update program, download and install the English version of the Ultimate Extras element, and change the "InstallLanguage" value in the registry file to the original value after the completion. Just fine. For example: Texas Hold'em, the English version of the Ultimate Extras program, is temporarily not available for download in the Chinese version of Vista. After downloading the registry, there is no problem downloading.
