What caused the small icon of the window to become garbled

Q: I was abnormally shut down due to power failure when I was using the computer. After restarting Windows XP, I found that the minimized, maximized, and closed buttons on the application window have become small icons. 1, 2, 3, and some were changed to question marks or garbled. What is the matter, how can I solve this problem?
A: This is a common fault in Windows XP. The reason for this fault is that the abnormal shutdown causes the system to display on the minimize, maximize and close buttons. The graphic font is missing or corrupted. The solution to this problem is to find a font file named Marlett.ttf on another computer with the same operating system installed and copy it to the folder of your computer system installation partition. Another way is to restart the operating system, press the F8 key to bring up the system menu before the system starts, and then select “Safe Mode” to start the system, then exit normally in “Safe Mode” and restart the system. It can also solve the problem.
